 Statement regarding Liquid Metal

Thank you for contacting us regarding XM Liquid Metal. Sorry about the "form" letter but we wanted to reply as quickly as possible.

Due to a variety of programming changes Liquid Metal has been removed from our satellite radio service. However, Liquid Metal will continue to be available online through XM Radio Online. In addition, there will be a weekly Liquid Metal show that will air on Squizz (XM Channel 48) on Wednesday nights with encore broadcasts throughout the week.

Ward Cleaver, the former programming director for XM Liquid Metal has moved to Squizz where he now hosts a daily show from 12noon-3pm (EST) which includes that were artists featured on XM Liquid Metal.

We are constantly striving to enhance our programming lineup and on occasion difficult decisions like this are made.

We appreciate your interest and feedback. You can send your comments to programming@xmradio.com. If you don't have access to e-mail you can leave a message at 202 380-4093. We will make every effort to get back to you within 2 business days. We will take your comments into consideration as we make future changes to our lineup.

Thank you.

We apologize

With new channels being added and others constantly being updated, we try to make the most informed decisions with the help of customer feedback. We know that not everyone will agree with the programming decisions that we make, but we weigh all the options before moving forward

Why was XMLM axed and couldnt XM cut some other channels instead of this one

it really didnt make sense to cut Liquid Metal, its the only channel in its genre... i'm sure theres a few channels that are basically the same thing that could be cut

Or how about axing the broadway channel and kill two birds with one stone, the channel line up problem and the asses on broadway screwing with O&A's studio all the time. Wow, then maybe they wouldn't have to spend the first 45 mins of the show devoted to fixing the phone settings. Just a thought XM.

should write back "i don't have the FUCKING internet in my car."

there's 2 fucking religion channels and a slew of country (i know its very popular, but come on, ditch ONE). theres so many other channels to ditch.

this decision, to steal a line from paul teutl sr, "gripes my ass."

Wow the same statement they have been saying. "dont worry, you can still listen to a watered down version of xmlm during the afternoon at the lowest peak listening span on channel 48." Fuck those fucking fucks.

Ok, but XM can't cut some channels *you* might think suck. Christian channels cannot be cut due to an agreement with Salem Communcations who programs the channels. Nashville, KISS, MIX, and Sunny cannot be cut either due to Clear Channel control over those channels (Kevin Kash of DC101 runs those channels). Some channels on XM are owned by Worldspace, so those can't be cut, nor can many of the news stations since they have agreements with their respective companies.

It's not just about axing this channel and that because you don't like it. It's more difficult than you think.
