i love r&f, but they arent exactly a big name like howard stern. maybe infinity is willing to part with them in light of the current climate of radio

Ohhhhh here we go again!!! Maybe we need a new wackbag member like, ummmm I dont know, Fez'sanallube, to get us inside info. I will say this, of all the speculation on this topic in the past, there does seem to be a lot of fuel for the fire this time. I guess we will have to wait and see. Those WNEW days were a lot of fun, but AFRO shows would only really work if R and F were up in New York. I personally do not see them leaving their JFK gig, and instead simulcast like the Monsters.

With Infinity owned stations (WYSP for example) expressing an interest in playing a cleaned up XM O&A show, perhaps Infinity is willing to allow R&F to also broadcast on XM. Some type of Synergy?

There's a swarm of excitment behind the possibility of Ron and Fez joining up with XM Satellite Radio, and I've been getting emails about it like crazy lately - so I want to give a quick update on where we're at now. Since there haven't been any official announcements made, I must stress that this is all very much speculation, so don't ruin your shorts just yet.

According to sources, Ron and Fez have been conducting discussions with XM regarding joining up, but nothing has been signed as of yet. The contract with Infinity still remains as a major roadblock for this happening anytime soon, but with the pulling of Ron and Fez from certain markets there's some question whether the contract would be cut short.

Questions as to whether Ron and Fez would get their own channel, or whether they'd be part of XM 202 are too premature to ask. You need a contract first before any of that will happen. We'll have to wait before we can guess what programming changes would be made.

So there you have it. Speculate away.

Unless there's some kind of merger with XM and Infinity, not likely to happen soon. Many of us (myself included) would love it to happen, but it doesn't seem to be in the near future. :icon_frow

A simul-cast deal seems more feasible, and r&f have never so that edgy that they NEED to be on xm. So it makes more sense that they keep their current gig and just branch out to xm. Either way, as long as there's an afro possibility I'm happy.
