The way my office is I can't really point my antenna in the proper direction. The best reception I can get is 1 bar, and thats by hanging the antenna out the window... and I get constant hiss/silence/nosignal. Is there some kind of booster I can buy? Wasn't there supposed to be an office repeater coming out? Thanks.

Have you done the 2-0-7-XM Button trick to find the best possible place for your antenna?

If you are getting one bar that's something and usually means with a little tweaking of the antenna placement you'll get two or three bars. You can't just leave the antenna dangling in the wind outside the window like a limp blood penis. You will need to use the 2-0-7 diags screen and tweak the placement while watching the BER until you hit the sweet spot.
I spent a couple of hours moving my antenna fractions of an inch at a time until found the sweet spot (a very low BER %. Less than 1%)
This may be handy:

There's an antenna amplifier (http://www.myradiostore.us/antennas-cables/for-pcr/as-65-75-foot-amplified-antenna.html), but they aren't so cheap. I'd suggest moving the antenna ever so slightly and constantly monitoring the 2-0-7 menu until you find the sweet spot.
Many people in office buildings found it helpful if they had a metal file cabinet and put the antenna on top of that - it seemed to amplify the signal a bit (or enough to make the drop outs minimal).

The problem is that I am in the middle office on the wrong side of the building. Right now it's sort of outside wedged (the bottom part) under a shingle on the roof below. That is how I got 1 bar. To get more I'd be risking a broken neck. I might have to get that amplifier thing? I got the 207 screen up but to me it looks like Chinese. I'll read up more about it. Thanks.

Will the new Satellite that XM is launching help out the East Coast?

Nope, it won't help in reception. It's being positioned at the same angle as XM-2 (Roll) was.

You should really, really try the 2-0-7-XM Button suggestion. Keep messing with it and you should eventually get a very good signal.

I have the same problem sometimes, unfortunately with a terresterial signal its hit or miss sometimes one little thing gets in the way and it can hurt the signal.
