That was a big surprise. Since O&A is the replay from yesterday I started clicking around the dial on my radio and hear Jimmy. He was on Walton and Johnson this morning who broadcast out of Houston and can be heard along the gulf coast. I used to listen to them before discovering O&A. I caught the last part where they were plugging Jimmy's Houston show. I'm curious to see if Jimmy talks about the appearance when he gets back to the O&A show and what he thought of them. John and Steve are intelligent guys and I enjoy their show early in the mornings before steve starts doing the voices which he doesn't stop doing until the show is over.

I wasn't listening to W&J but I was listening to O&A today (even though it's a travel day) and heard the call-in from Norton while he was in Houston and remembered that he was playing this weekend. I IMMEDIATELY got online and ordered tickets for my girlfriend and I.
We caught the 8pm show and it rocked. However, my awesome waiter at the Improv hooked me up with 4 free tickets to any show and gave up the secret about ordering drinks there (the double-tall ones have much more booze) and because of those two things, my girlfriend and I stayed for the 10pm show.
I met and talked to Norton for a split-second after the first show and then after the second show I got a cd and dvd from him (which he politely signed) and then hung out whilst everyone else bought their items so I could get a picture with Jim (I didn't want to stop him from making any sales).
I must say, for someone who has been a listener since they came on in Philly on WYSP (I lived there for three years) but has never called in, meeting Norton was almost surreal. Honestly, sitting in the crowd and hearing him on the audio system and seeing him at the same time took a while for my mind to adjust to...it was almost like watching a dubbed foreign film...I was really not accustomed to seeing and hearing him all at once.
Anyway, long story short, didn't hear it on W&J but went to the show and had an AWESOME time, 10pm show was better than the 8pm show because I witnessed comedic genius in the way Norton dealt with hecklers and segued into the next part of his bit by using their interruptions (I was comparing the two shows). It was really impressive to watch.
So, now I'm home, with a signed cd, signed dvd, celebrity photo of myself with Jim Norton....and still a little bit intoxicated from being out (could drive safely tough).
So if Norton is reading this site (as he sometimes does): Thanks for the great show, you really are an intelligent and quick-witted guy who is also very approchable and humble. Its unfortunate that our conversation was cut short by the lady you had experiences with in Cleveland, but I hope that situation turned out for the best.

Dammit Lil Jimmie Norton killed yesterday at the 8:00 show. Surprisingly enough the local talent didn't dissappoint. The only cooler was some Shelly Long circa Cheers looking Drunk was making a scene in front of the stage. But the Sean Rouse made sure she'd be part of his act. Then she got kicked out. Stupid hecklers. But when Norton took the stage, even though I hear him on XM radio, his jokes was still new to me. After the set he did a meet and greet outside the exit. I got his DVD and got him to sign my WOW sticker (the same one Regan signed) and when he asked me when and where I saw him, I told him and even said that Mercutio opened for him. Which he gave a smirk. I even got to get a pic of him too. What was different from the last show at the Laff Stop last year I got to talk to him for a couple of minutes and very few did the same while most of the crowd was leaving, but yesterday it was packed to meet Lil Jimmie, amazing how a satellite radio show does the difference.
