I don't have much to say about 'ol Derf, but I wanted to be the first to start the inevitable thread.
(and the poll)
I voted for "I just feel bad for him." What happened to him was very tragic -- akin to the guy that got hit in the head by the boat. But as far as the show is concerned, he's only tolerable in very small doses -- and only when he has a great story to add. Regular call-ins a la Lady Di, Patti, et al, won't make for more gooder radio. It really does break the flow of the show when you have to hear continual repetition of guttural snarls.

I've never been a W.C.(no, not water closet) Fred fan. His story is said, but I find him highly annoying. Apparently some people do find him funny, so tough shit for me. Every segment can't please all of us. Too bad he wasn't on the Achille Laurell.

He's not really funny per se, how the guys respond and interact is what makes it funny, but I do kinda feel bad for the guy because of the fact that he wound up becomng a physical disaster.

How so? I'm just saying that a guy that's been through such a tragedy deserves to go on a nice cruise or something. Is that so bad?

No, but it's funny!
Though it would have been funnier if he'd spelled the name of the boat correctly. :icon_mrgr
Why are feeling so sorry for the guy anyway? At least he's got all his toes.

Listening to Opie and Anthony, my favorite failures and washed out Shock Jocks, and when Wheelchair Fred came one he sounded a lot like Arnold Schwarzenegger talking over the radio. Anyone else caught that? BTW anyone got Wheelchair Fred “I’m not an Animal” audio bit? Got to have that now for my computer every time I get email or boot my computer.

After getting him laid, somebody; the show, wackbag, whoever should get ole' Fred set up with XM. I thought I heard him say he did not have XM.

Have not gotten to the part where he calls in (I am gussing he called in) but I'll post a bit or 2 from the old shows, and if I remember I'll rip the "I am not an animal" part for Just Foul who started another thread asking for it.
*edit - I merged Just Fouls thread in GD with this one*

It was classic when he 1st described his anal encounter with the young fellow years ago.
I loved hearing him go into those retard fits, but too much will ruin it.
i want the b-b-b-boys to get him laid...

I'm in wheelchair too. I dont feel bad for him, I mean dont get me wrong, what happen to him rly sucks; But I dont like when people feel bad for me. I personally live life just fine without people's pity. But thats just me. I mean when someone wants to feel bad for me, I say " You can just go see Jim Norton in Baltimore at The Improv, March 10-13 instead" " For tickets call: (410) 727-8500.

Ehh....He's got good times and not. Much like Bernie. Sometimes he's
good radio and sometimes he's not.
They should get Wheelchair Fred and Boat-to-Head guy together. Might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Ah, but does anyone remember when Ant tried to "lay hands" on wheelchair fred to make him walk? Fred attempted to stand out of the wheelchair and promptly fell flat on his mush-mouthed face. Classic!

I like how Opie's a veritable Dr. Dolittle - the way only he seems to understand what Fred is saying... oh wait, Fred's "not an animal"! My bad.
(This is definitely one of Ope's superpowers, right up there with being able to tell a lady's age by examining her taint)
