Anyone have any good O&A related ringtone type mp3's? I just got a new phone and want to O&A customize it. I already got Street Fighting man and cut it to 30 secs and uploaded it (kicks ass when the phone rings!) but was looking for something else like maybe "nothing works, the medications don't work, i've been here 7 yars" that whole quote in good quality would be good.

Throw out some suggestions and/or files please ... :icon_mrgr

I've never really bothered with downloading a cool ringtone. I know there are sites with hunreds of ringtones you can pay for but they usually suck. In this case, where you have a sound clip you want to use, how do you get it to your phone? Do I actually have to figure out how to use my wireless web to get these to my phone? (I have an LG-VX6000)

loser1866 Follow the directions on this site and enjoy everything your Nextel has to offer:

http://www.teknidude.com/wap/webjal.html

You need the Motorola USB cable to connect the phone to your computer. Make sure also that the sound files are in .wav format. Any other problems just ask. Later.

Things really sound rotten when you convert them to that format.. I have the VGA-1000 (I think that's the A650, but I'm not sure), and I converted Dru Boogie's version of Street Fighting Man for my ringer.. Blech!! It's bearable, but it leaves a lot to be desired.. Polyphonics work fine, so if you have musical ability, make all the MIDI's you want.. It's the Real Music ringers that blow. I have to try a few more things, but even music ringers I've downloaded from Sprint @ $2.00 a pop sound like crap.

For the i730/830, just save the file to disk, then get a phone Java loader (WebJal is pretty decent), connect your phone to your computer (USB data cable), and use the WebJal to download it to your phone.

Nextel "Falcon" series (i730/i830) supports wav and midi, i866 adds mp3 support. This file is in wav format.

I now have the 'banana phone' song on my Motorola V265- I simply did a Google search on 'email mp3 to V265' and I came up with this link:

http://www.mobiledia.com/forum/topic20482-0-asc-0.html

The answer, for me, was to rename the sound to filename.mid, and then send the sound to ##########@vzwpix.com (#'s represent your phone number). Save the attachment from the message when it comes in, and then select it from the 'media gallery' when setting the ring detail...

If you don't have that particular phone, do a search like I did...

I have a Motorola v220, If you have a Motorola phone you can download a program called "mobile PhoneTools" google it. You'll also need a miniusb cable, most smaller mp3 players use these. I use Adobe Audition to make ringtones, I made an encoder preset for mp3 at 40 kbps, 24 khz, stereo, seemed to sound the best for this phone and keep the file size down. Street Fighting man is my ringtone right now, I use "hello , exactly!" for email notification, and "OK, Terrific" for IMs, now i gotta find a use for Bernie's "you motherfucker!"

I decided to go ahead and make a small piece of Ecstacy of gold my ringtone for my tmobile Nokia 3650 and Bananaphone for my tone on my Nokia 6620 phones.

Just in case anyone else has these phones, the 3650 is horribly easy. Convert the file to a 16khz mono wav file and then transfer it via bluetooth, IR or get a card reader and put it directly on the MMC. Easy. It's not the highest quality sound, but it gets the point across.

The 6620 isn't for tmobile. We have to stick with the 6600 which doesn't support mp3 ringtones. Do yourself a favor and find an unlocked 6620 on ebay and you can use it on tmobile. Which is exactly what I did :D. I just had an mp3 of bananaphone and transfered it over via BT. If you're stuck with the 6600, follow the same instructions for the 3650.

It's probably the limitations of the file format.. Like I said, I converted a pristine 384kbps rip of Street Fighting Man into .QCP (for Sprint/Qualcomm phones), and it sounded absolutely wretched. I had better luck with the Dru Boogie version I ripped from the show audio. Unfortunately there's no real way to convert anything into MIDI reliably.. Especially if it has vocals or fast/extreme changes (like the siren effect in SFM).. It confuses the program and you get garbage. If you want a MIDI/Polyphonic, you have to get the sheet music and make your own.

WebJal shouldn't do anything with your drivers, You DO NEED the motorolla USB driver for your appropriate OS though. Also since you messed up your machine at work, it could be because your work IT department has locked down the OS. Most IT departments do this to some extent to prevent modifications to your OS, and possible coruption.
Install the IDEN usb driver on a machine at home, then load webjal, should be fine.

Also since you messed up your machine at work, it could be because your work IT department has locked down the OS. Most IT departments do this to some extent to prevent modifications to your OS, and possible coruption.
Install the IDEN usb driver on a machine at home, then load webjal, should be fine.
Thanks for the info cmack. I had one more ? for you. My wife wants to know if you can make any mp3 into a ringtone. She is a big Jason Mraz :piss fan and has the need now that she has banana phone on her nextel. Just let me know what you can do. Thanks again buddy!

I know I'm not cmack, but the answer to the question is yes, any mp3 can be made into a Nextel ringer. Just convert the clip to .wav format, open it up in "sound recorder" and delete the beginning and ending until you get the clip you want. Save and convert into 8 bit wav file. That's it.

Finally got Banana Phone as a ringtone thanks to Adam3654 ( :action-sm ).
For anyone that has a verizon LG6000 the best way to get a tone on your phone is to E-mail it as an attachment to your phone (##########@vzwpix.com) and make sure its under 30kbytes.

dBpowerAMP Music Converter. It's simple, very fast and works great with a LOT of audio files. All you have to do after installed is right click on the file and select "Convert To". The format for the smallest wav files are 8 bit, 8000 Hz, 1 Mono. You can probably find the program on download.com or something.

If you just want to cut a clip from a file, I use MP3 sound cutter. The trial version is available on download.com, and its only limitation is the clips can only be up to 60 seconds (most phones you wouldn't go over 25-30 sec).
For full cutting and editing (and converting) I use Adobe Audition. This is not free, but I have seen cracks for it.

Ok, anyone who wants a ringtone, I'm building a library of them in all different formats. I've finally found a way to make decent sounding .QCP files (for most Sprint and Verizon phones). I can make them in almost any format for almost any phone, including Blackberry, Treo, and N-Gage (Sorry, not for Sidekick... T-mobile locked out "user-created" ringtone downloads) - just ask. Keep in mind these are real music ringtones, not Polyphonics. I CANNOT make MIDI (Polyphonic) or older Nokia (Monophonic) tones. There is no way to convert anything to them, and I don't have the time to sit down with sheet music and code out MIDI's.

You must have a BROWSER ENABLED PHONE with a subscribed or pay-per-use browser account. If you can't use your browser, you can't get a ringtone from me because of how the system works. If you have "pay per K" browser access, most of the files are under 70KB (there are some exceptions, and I will let you know if the file you want is big), and most metered accounts charge $0.01 per KB downloaded. You must also be able to receive TEXT MESSAGES.

If you want a ringtone, PM me the following information:

1: The ringtone you want
2: Your cell number
3: Your phone's model number (different phones use different file formats)
4: Your cell provider (each cell provider uses a different text message "email address" format)

I will upload the ringtone in the correct format for your phone (if I don't have it, I'll make it) to a server, and a text message will be sent to your phone. The text message will include a link to download the file, via your phone's browser. Depending on your phone, you may see a warning like: "Content not trusted. Sprint can't guarantee. Continue/Cancel"... This means that the file has not been "signed" by your service provider. It does not mean anything is wrong with the file. Hit continue to download the file. If there are special "provider specific" instructions to get the file, I will tell you via PM here. Verizon is one of them.

If you have a phone that uses a goofy oddball format (for example, some Siemens, Ericsson, and LG phones, and the Treo), I will send a known working test file first, to make sure your phone will actually take the file. I have to do that, because I have no way to actually test a converted file to make sure it works before I send it to you. If the test file works, and the converted file doesn't, I know it was a bad conversion. If I don't send a test file, and the conversion doesn't work, I don't know if it's a bad conversion or if the phone just won't take the file.

Can anyone either put up a link or tell me where to go to find a WAV or Windows Media clip of the 'Street Fighting Man' siren that is under 30k? I have an LG VX6000 phone and I can e-mail myself WAV files, but they can't be over 30k. It doesn't matter if it's only like a 5 second clip or something as it loops anyway when it rings.

I added some ringers to my cell site. Banana phone, the new ONA theme, and some jingles.

I have no way to test them except for the AMR files I tested with a Symbian OS Series 60 phone. (Nokia 6600)

I have a question for you. I have a Samsung a670 Verizon phone. I emailed some show mp3's to my phone and used them as ringtones. I get that part. The trouble is that after downloading the mp3's my battery life is significantly shorter. I'm talking like only 6 hours on a full charge without much usage. (Did I get infected with the other virus?) I've even been through two phones. I got the files off of a site created by this guy on wackbag named Bloody Show. I'm starting to think the files he's offering are corrupt, but maybe I'm wrong. Is the battery thing common when using mp3's? Do you know where I can get files that are not going to corrupt the system? I'd really like to use the 'ok terrific', 'sfm drew boogie version' and 'banana phone' as various rings and alerts. after reading the threads , this doesn't seem to be uncommon. Can you please help a fellow wackbagger out?

Thanks.

I spent 15 bucks and bought this program here

http://www.polyphonicwizard.com/

It let's you take any audio file you have and convert it to a ring tone, then it uploads the ringtone to their website. You then log on to that site via your phone and d/l it....it's much easier then it sounds..

you can also use the program to load games and pictures to your phone

joey bond,

no. you cannot send a ringtone to a nextel without paying for it. someone DID figure out how to use Nextel's network to send wireless ringtones, but he was sloppy and got a cease and decist order from NXTL's attack dogs (attorneys).

Try taking the ringtones you want and going to a nextel store that loads ringtones and ask them to throw them on for you, if you don't feel like paying for myJAL. WebJAL is a pain in the ass.

I have "ok terriffic", and "howdy...........Faggot." amoung many others. It didn't cost me a thing and they sound just as good as what you download.Check your phone to see if you have a memo feature.

Friend of mine has the Razor and wanted some songs. He had the program and usb cable to transfer mp3's onto the phone. He needed me to edit the song some. I edited the song and he stuck it on his phone. Was real easy. Don't know the name of the program he had but I know there is one out there, so there may be more.

If someone can host the file...
I can do that for you.

I have a few showtune ringtones on my phone. Found a few sites that will let you transfer a song and or pics to the cell. I don't have the sites that did such things in my favorites anymore since I got what I wanted, but such sites are out there for certian phones.

It'll ask for carrier, what kind of phone, and cell #
and then you upload your ringtone file,
it will send an e-mail back to your phone, open the file and save.

If you have an LG phone then use BITPIM.

Type Bitpim in Yahoo or Google to get it.

Cingular uses mp3's and MIDI files for Ringtones. MP3's are easier.

From your computers email account, attach mp3 files (note-you can only attach a total max of 80kb). Then send it to your phone as an (MMS) multimedia message.
In the address bar type your10digitcellphonenumber@mms.mycingular.com and send it. Open the MMS like any text message and play each mp3 file and store it.
This way costs 25 cents per MMS but it is easy.

If anyone knows how to send attachments via email please let me know. I was able to send them but I can only view the atttachments and not download. I even tried yahoo! mail for mobile.

BitPim works great with any LG phone.

I don't have to buy andy ringotones ever and can place what ever pics (graphics) from my pc i want.

you can get all the info here:
http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/

You'll need a data cable of course. You can get them at any Radio Shack; but remember to get the one mdae for your LG phone and don't let them talk you into buying the software.

Cable alone should be 20 bucks at most but with the software (you don't need) it brings the price up to about 50 bucks.

I'm sure you're savvy enough to know how to install the proper driver right?

Alright.
I downloaded the Bannana Phone song from page one.
I have a Nokia, and the themes and installed rings are all mp3 extension.
But i've never added a ringtone before. Do I just have to email the bannanaphone.mp3 to my phone number? and if so how?
I'm usually alright with technology but I have a hard time with these phones

What I wanted to mention here was that if you have any problems with phone tech or are interested in hacking/modding your phone, I highly recommend the Howard Chui Forms at http://www.howardforums.com. Great information about virtually ever service and model phone and a lot of techs contribute as well. I was able to hack my Motorola e815 for free image and ringtone file transfer, Bluetooth, custom banners, etc. It's an excellent resource.

i was trying to do the whole "download free shit to me phone" thing, but couldnt figure anything out because im a technological retard. i went to freeringers.net, it cost me something like 7 bucks and i can edit and send myself ringtones of anything i can get on my computer(dont know why its called freeringers if they charge you, but its a one time fee).
right now, i have a breur "nice head dick", "ok terrific", street fighting man intro, the car crash, ant doing dice doing "bugaloogaloo" from the dice on ice bit, and norton saying "your mothers a trick turning pony, she sucks horse cock while bad 70's music plays" on my phone. It makes for really funny moments when you're standing on line at the super market, dmv, or in court and you get a text message and norton starts screaming obsenities from your phone.
On that note, looking for both clips and ideas for clips to make into ringtones, because i have nothing better to do, so if anyone has ideas, hook a brotha up.

I have the motorola Razr V3c.

You need the usb driver first.

see here: http://forum.osnn.net/showthread.php?t=80317

then i use the Mobile Phone Tools software. The multimedia studio lets you copy mp3s and pics to and from the phone. Its got a few bugs but it gets the job done quick. I've been cutting custom mp3s for everyone in my phonebook. I use the mexican hat dance for my spanish tenant, fatty phenomia for this fat retard that I have to deal with. Good shit.

Bruce,

The correct format for mp3 Ringtones on Nextel is 32Kbps, 8000 Hz, Mono

And you also need a loader... there are free ones out there, but you need to set up a personal server for the webjal to think that it's logging into something. There is an alternative, goto http://www.gomyteam.com and download the MyJal Apollo edition. There is a 15-day free trial period with full functionality, after that you have to purchase a license key.

And NextelNoob.com is up and running... if you want to use WebJal... you can learn about it in the Tutorials section. http://www.nextelnoob.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43

I found a great place that you can upload your .mp3's to and it will convert it and send it to your phone. The only catch is for Verizon, you been to be able to recieve PIX attachments. The best part of the deal, is it is FREE! Click the link in my sig, it will get you 1 free ringtone. When you register your account, you will recieve 1 more free ringtone. You then have 3 options:

1) Fill the sponsored offers (BMG, eMusic, yourmusic.com, etc)
2) Purchase ringtones (CC or Paypal)
-1 for $1.49
-5 for $5.99
-11 for $11.99
-50 for $19.99
3) Refer new users. For each new registered member, you recieve 4 free ringtones. I have made 10 so far, and they are all great.

These are editable, and you can edit, and resend your tones for free for up to 7 days. Im sure there is somekind of a catch somewhere, but I havent found one yet!

I'd love an mp3 of that laugh, I'm too lazy to make it myself....

Ok, I searched this whole thread and a few others and cannot find some of the staple ringtones. I am referring to the Steve Grrr... or the hybrid car ringtone... If someone could kindly point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thank you

Well whoever wants ringtones just tell me what provider and what phone u have and we'll start there!

I have a Samsung SCH-A930 (a new model), with Verizon, and cannot get the ringtones on the damn phone. It says they have to to be converted to WMA format, and I did so, and uploaded them as a pix message (had no problem doing this with my Motorola) but I just can't save them as rings. Any input wouldd be appreciated.

I have the same phone and got to set different sounds as my ringtone. There is a free program to download called bitpim. You'll need to get the usb cable and CD rom to install the needed drivers (V CAst Music Essentials its called $29.99)

Once you do that, go into bitpim and select the phone A930

a good place to read about this stuff is to join yahoo groups for that phone (that;s what i did) also, there are message boards here: http://cellphoneforums.net/samsung/

I have 4 Frank Vincent ringtones. If I can email them to someone to put on the website, I'll do it. Just let me know wher eto email them too.

my Vincent ringtones: breaking your balls ...fuckin fresh; go home...shine box; right is right; & teach this kid fuckin manners

If you are wanting to tinker around with audio then you can pick up the new Adobe Audition 2.0 for around $350.00 to make your productions, show recordings and ringtones. I'm still using AA 1.5

If you are a university student then you can pay $140.00 for it here:

I am so pissed.

Today we got new phones at work (Motorola ic502 , Sprint/Nextel) and I don't feel like paying anyone to get my favorite sounds onto this one.

How can I download crap onto this phone ?
What software, cables (it does have a small usb port on the bottom for the charger),.........

I hate change.

I use software called (Ringtone Media Studio) software, it will change any audio file to fit the model of phone you have. It also does not require a cable to your computer. You send it straight from the program to your phone. I dont remember the site I got it from but they have it at Amazon.com

For phones with a memory card (like my LG phone) it will take an mp3 direct from there, so you can load it up from your computer using a card reader.
