After hearing him on the worst of yesterday morning, I think they defintely need to get Ted back on the show. That guy is a complete riot. Anyone know if there's plans to have him back on?

he is a fast-talking mf'er, but he skews just a little right of fascist for me. He also totally blew past the "why did we go to iraq, again?" issue. Just another one of GWB's hard-core legion.

what, me? politics?

I would love to hear Uncle Ted on again. Anthony's Cross-fire comment got me thinking. Picture him booked with Al Frankin, Lewis Black, or some other liberal who at least would have some balls to fight back instead of bailing out. I would love to hear a "go fuck your mother" edition of Cross-fire .Holy shit, it would be like an explosion in a fireworks factory.

Father Ted on the other hand, that's a different story.

The first time he was on the show he bashed Texas. Being a Dallas resident my whole life that immediatly put him on my shit list. Not to mention the fact that without the trailor trash that occupy a large amount of this state he would have no audience for his shit music.
That being said, I also hate him because he is arrogent and closed minded. He's a douce bag.

He makes me laugh when he's on. I was enjoying some of his comments, but he proved that he doesn't know shit about shit when they brought up why we don't go after Saudi Arabia because that's where the terrorists came from and his answer was "we're in their face, right there" when clearly we are not and will not do anything to them as long as Bush is in office.

I'll never get used to it my brother. Never never ever.

He's pretty liberal, what makes him seem moderate is that he is actually funny. Most Liberal comics just plain suck... I.E. Al Frankin, Jeanine Snufalophous (whatever the fuck her name is). He will do the obligatory Clinton pussy jokes or the John Kerry is boring" lines, but I'd bet my house he would never vote for a Republican.

I think Lewis Black actually described himself as a socialist in a NY Times profile done last year, but that may have been a joke.

I'll agree that Garafolo stinks, but Franken can be very funny as a writer.

As for Ted, even though I disagree with almost everything he says he is a very entertaining guest.

Absolutely. These gung ho blohard types hate when you throw facts in their face and they just carry on with their mindless 'we're kicking their ass in the name of Uncle Sam' bullshit. The worst part is him telling Jim to back down, as Uncle Ted will provide the comedy, thank you very much. A classic douche.

Maybe someone should ask him why he's third on the bill opening up for Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd and playing to an empty stadium this far into his career.

I cant stand Nugent. What a self absorbed asshole he is. I hate the way he comes off while getting his point out. There are certain things he brings up that I totally agree with, but find myself trying to take the other side just because of the arrogant way he comes across. That said, I think he makes for good radio. I wish they would have him on with Greg Giraldo. Actually I wish they would have Giraldo on anytime.

He can be a little annoying at times, but...

I agree with a lot of what he says. I'm glad he is on my side. No matter what your politics happen to be, you must admit he is better than the left's loud mouths. Moore, Franken, and that bitch Janeane Garofalo.

I think Nuggent would murder them all in a debate. I would love to see Garofalo VS Nuggent. Brian Kilmeade fucked that bitch up in a debate, could you imagine the slaughter Nuggent would put on.

This is what I get from a Ted Nugent visit to the show:

Opie: [one sentence]

Anthony: [2 or 3 sentences]

Ted Nugent: "As much as I go from town to town and rock every city out I still....RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE....and I know to speak eloquently when needed but when I'm with me shitkicker friends I know that.....RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...cuz let me tell you, I was there in Iraq and I...RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...the bottom line is....we're America and we are doing what is best and I know that....RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...and to all of those pussy cowards out there who don't agree with whats going on and what we're doing in Iraq.....RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...and to anyone who disagrees, FUCK YOU!!"

rinse, repeat.

he's so edgy. he's such a badass.

I'm a huge fan of Nugent's music, went to see him when he was in concert here in Houston.

However, his political views (while I agree with some of them) lack independent and critical thinking.

Like people have said before, he completely dodged the Iraq question.

Bottom Line: We went there for WMD's that much of the world and most of the academic minds in the country knew weren't there....and the story has been changed ever since....get WMD's, liberate people, secure democracy in the region....I totally gave up hope as soon as the bombs started falling....

I love Uncle Ted....but if he were on O&A constantly it would wreck my consistent enjoyment of the show.

He is just a huge fucking hypocrite. He was a draft dodger. He admits that he was. But at some point in his life, when he had no need to worry about ever being forced to enter a war and put his own meaningles life on the line for the sake of his country, he decided that America is right and we need to fight these wars to preserve democracy all over the world. And when someone calls him on his own hypocrisy, he has no answer, so he tells them to grow up and that people have the right to change their views as they get older. But the bottom line, shit dick, is that it is much easier to change your mind on something like this when you no longer have to fear your own ass being on the line. And for you, of all people, to tell others what they should or should not do or believe in regards to matters such as these is fucking ludicrous. Take the barrel of an automatic weapon (that is so imperative for people to own, you know, because of that ammendment and all) and sit on it you fucking cock monkey.

People change their minds over time, but I think in some circumstances (such as this one), you lose the right to tell other people that your view is right and there's is wrong. Like I said, it is a lot easier to change your mind when it is no longer your own ass that is on the line.

Ted is a great guest to have on the show. I agree with some of what he says, disagree with the rest. Anyone remember the time he was on the phone when the boys were still on, dare i say it, WNEW?? Nugent on his ranch firing off a few hundred rounds. Some of the funniest radio I've ever heard. I think he was using an AR-15 at one point, and the listener was somehow able to get a feeling for what was going on through a cell phone. Anthony was laughing his afro ass off.

I love the idea of having a "Cross-fire" with these hardcores like Ted, Lewis, that comedian from "Whose Line...". I think that would be hysterical.

No offense to the hunters out there, but I HATE the arguement they use when they hunt that "they are trying to control the deer population." If any population should be controlled it is man since we are the ones who really are overpopulating in addition to fucking up the planet. Every animal on this planet, except for man, whole life is sleeping, shitting, eating and fucking, followed by dying. That is it. They do not disturb anything in nature nor do they poison the air, land or sea with their by-products. Yet, we feel the need to control their growth while we pop out another leech every second. But, I am getting off on a tangent...

Not going around shooting people...getting more members. The left paints the NRA as a near terrorist organization. They miss the fact that do so much to educate people on the use of guns.

The people shooting people are the people that the left always protects first, criminals.

Howard Gensler | Ted Nugent urges NRA to be radical extremists

Associated Press

WITH AN assault weapon in each hand, rocker and gun-rights advocate Ted Nugent urged National Rifle Association members to be "hardcore, radical extremists demanding the right to self-defense."

Speaking at the NRA's annual convention in Houston Saturday, Nugent said each NRA member should try to enroll 10 new members over the next year and associate only with other members.

"Let's next year sit here and say, 'Holy smokes, the NRA has 40 million members now,' " he said. "No one is allowed at our barbecues unless they are an NRA member. Do that in your life."

He drew the most cheers when he told gun owners they should never give up their right to bear arms and should use their guns to protect themselves if needed.

"Remember the Alamo! Shoot 'em!" he screamed to applause. "To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."
