Sirius Radio Pilot

I'll give you specifics when I get em but I'll be doing 90 minutes live on March 15th as a pilot.

If it fails, its because of you guys. Not me. You. Its all on your shoulders.

I'll give you times and a number for call-ins when I get em.

Dont fuck this up. Link (http://www.purefuckingevil.com/vomitorium/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1904)

Well that really sucks.

I was hoping to hear him on O&A.

Lets hope he does horrible on the pilot.

I'm more interested in/shocked that there are "pilots" for shows on Sirius.

Because their radios tend to be aircraft sized. I think John Denver actually died after he crashed one of their prototypes.

Anyone who says stanhope sucks, either has never seen his standup or is fucking deaf.

Stanhope, is one of the best comedians alive. The only reason Doug is going to sirius is because he wasnt offered by XM. Believe me, if XM would of offered or even O&A, he would of jumped on board.

Sirius is definitely the more proactive of the two companies in the area of comedic talk radio. No doubt about it.

yeah, as said before:
XM calculates risks and even if it's OK, they don't take them.
Sirius throws caution to the wind with no regard to money, and save it by, as told to me by a former employee, hiring them as contractors, not employees.

XM refers to subscribers as "listeners", while Sirius refers to them as "customers".

Have you ever heard any of his CDs or seen him live? If you're basing your comment from the man show only then you dont know Stanhopes act. Even Stanhope said he hated the man show.

I've seen Stanhope's act, and I didn't like it. I liked "The Man Show" even less. That doesn't mean that he would make a lousy guest, but I'm not upset that we won't hear him on O & A anytime soon. Not being able to hear Bruer in the studio, on the other hand, does stink. Maybe he can move his show to 202 when his deal is up.

Unless XM offers him a lot more money than Sirius (judging from history, that is doubtful), why would Breuer leave Sirius for XM? Sure, O&A are at XM and that could sway him a little, but XM pretty much ignored him when Sirius was courting him. Sirius has earned some loyalty with Breuer (I would think).

XM might not match Sirius in term sof dollars, but they offer other things that could make up that money:
1. More listeners. If he was added to 202 doing the same show he does on Sirius with the same hours, he would have a larger potential audience. That would mean a greater opportunity for listeners who maybe aren't that familiar with him to hear him and possibly decide to go see him perform the next time he's in their area. Yeah, he's pretty well-known, but there's always someone who isn't familiar with a comedian or who has a negative perception of him based solely on SNL (yes, there are people who hate SNL and wouldn't be impressed by a stint on that show).

2. He would be free to hang out in the studio with O & A again. Besides just being fun, that opens up even more listeners who might not know much about him or who might not have been keeping up with what he's been doing. Someone might only hear about a show he's doing because he was in the studio with O & A.

3. Financial security. Most of us who were listening since the show began on XM know that Sirius has had some problems paying employees on time. Sirius can't just keep issuing more stock every time it hires someone new like it did with Stern. XM, on the other hand, stands to start turning a profit within a couple years. Sirius might offer more money, but it won't matter if they can't pay him on time because of their huge financial commitment to Stern.

Now, I'm not saying that he will definitely leave when his deal expires. I'm not even speculating (just hoping). Obviously, nobody here knows if that will happen (unless Wifflebatlube's been talking to him about it already), but there are positive aspects for him if he makes the move.

Screw Stanhope. Yes, His stand-up is good, but that can be tuned over time. His only experience of a consistent show that changes and needs fresh stuff is 'The Man Show' & he fucking ruined it. I hope he does the same at Sirius......... tool.
