Last Show before Vacation!
Show Open
• They talk about the fact that it is Good Friday.
• Op talks about lil’ Jimmy being the voice of reason at the St. Patrick’s day show and not wanting the guy to swallow a butter knife – Ant points out that it is just him wanting to make sure that they don’t blow it up again.
• They talk about an accident outside their building this morning, with a cab and a woman in a car.
• Op says he hopes that people are realizing that they are already in vacation mode. Ant says he was in bed watching poker and playing poker online late last night. Op says “Damn It!”, because he believes that soon Ant will be playing online poker in studio, just like the days at WNEW when Ant was doing day trading at the start of the show. Op remembers investing with advice for a stockbroker, and that they all ended up being disasters. Back to the online poker, Ant says he is definitely getting better now. Op says because it is the day before vacation, Ant should play poker on the computers in the studio.
• Caller – says that Howard was talking about them again, saying that he predicted their blowing themselves up. He also gives a story about buying a stock and having it just bottom out. Ant brings up the people who bought Sirius as an example and that everyone thought that stock would rise and it hasn’t. They talk about Deadwood too. Op says, to finish up the Howard stuff, that when Howard goes to Sirius he won’t have as big an audience as they do.
• Caller – says they need to take a break so that the other radio shows can catch up with them, because they all can’t play the Pat O’Brien audio. Op says when they first got the audio, he expected everyone to play it, but he realized no one was playing it because of the content.
• Ben comes in studio to say that Stern is claiming that he invented “Smackfest” - a contest being run at HOT 97 (a hip hop station in NY ) where women contestants slap each other in the face until one gives up. Ant says that is one of the funniest contests he has ever seen. Apparently the NY boxing commission is threatening to fine them because it is what amounts to an unlicensed boxing match. Ant wonders if they could have been fined for their blind boxing match back at WNEW, and they talk about what happened at the match.
