There really needs to be an organized peanut gallery of Wackbag animals in the audience (preferably wearing the new Bagger T-shirts). Um, you know, like represent... & stuff. Mphhh, humph, eh, er....

The dude ate 53.5 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes last year.
Impressive eggnog performance aside, the over/under on Pat is probably no more than 20.
Good luck though.

This link has the dates for the qualifying events:
I.F.O.C.E. (http://www.ifoce.com/news.php?action=detail&sn=225) (check out some of the records...F'N incredible! :icon_eek: )
These are the closest ones, I can enter up to three of these to try and qualify for the finals in Coney Island:
May 21 - East Hartford, CT
May 28 - Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia, PA
June 24 - Molly Pitcher Travel Plaza, Cranbury, NJ
June 25 - Long Island Ducks Stadium, Central Islip, NY
July 2 - Shea Stadium, Queens, NY
In last year's contest the winner won with 53&1/2 hot dogs in 12 minutes! The closest American ate 32!
I figure I would have to eat 1 hot dog every 13-14 seconds to win!
Perhaps the boys would want to hold an "Unofficial Pre-Qualifier to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest" to see who would have the best chance at winning or placing at the big show july 4th
If I can get to the finals, depending on the clothing restrictions, I can wear something with O n A on it
That contest will be shown live on ESPN and be covered by every F'n news outlet under the sun and the winner goes on Leno (dream on Fatso!)
I'm going to send a CD of the Egg Nog Contest and a link to the downloads on Foundry to the I.F.O.C.E. (the sanctioning body....it just gets stupider & stupider, does’nt it??)
I'm sure they'll get a kick (in the liver?...Opie?) Out of the color commentary!
Good luck Pat! Thanks for the CD, got it today!:)I was very busy last week, it went out Saturday, I'm glad you got it! :)

Black Eye for Nathans if Menchetti follows thru on Hartford Crash
Gentleman Joe Menchetti vs Elvis and the Black Widow? It just might happen if former IFOCE member Gentleman Joe Menchetti keeps to his word to crash the Nathans Hartford Conn qualifier May 21st. In his warped mind , Menchetti still feels he belongs on stage with his former mates so he can defend his Hartford hot dog crown. Either one of two scenarios will occur. Menchetti will be gently escorted off the stage by security police or George Shea will pull all the eaters off the podium and let Menchetti compete by himself . He might have to foot the bill for the dogs unless he intends to bring his own after all is said and done. I think he realizes he wont be able to enter the contest , but his sole purpose is to make a scene and sad to say he just might pull it off. Its quite apparant that Menchetti is not satisfied with the media coverage he has recieved with the AICE , so what better way to get his name in the headlines than to crash a Nathans famous hot dog eating contest. If Menchetti goes ahead with this dispicable act and disrupts the contest, it might cause severe damage and strike a black eye to competitive eating.

Question: do you have to eat the hotdogs with the buns? I'm wondering if there would be any advantage to eating a bunch of hotdogs first, THEN stuffing down the buns seperately? Maybe if you have the same consistency with what you are eating they may go down easier. Just a thought.
If you want to psyche out Kobyashi, just bring either a picture of a) Kevin Spacey or b) Dr. Robert Oppenheimer.

People DO do that but I think I'll try 1 whole hotdog (dog & bun) at a time, I have 3 chances at it so I may change strategy at some point...we'll see! :)
The soak the bread in water strategy seems to work swimmingly. Turns to absolute mush and slides down your throat. With the hotdog still inside, its like just swallowing it whole (or so it looks like).

I've had 12 dirty water dogs (smaller than Nathan's) without any effort.
I think I could eat 25 - 30 Nathan's (in the 12 min. time limit) without training but I plan on drinking over a gallon of water to increase my capacity , after the Egg Nog contest my ribs were sore the next day from the expansion. I figure if that little girl (Sonia Thomas) can get 32 hot dogs down, I should be able to......we'll see!

One good way to get under the black widow's skin is when your backstage just before you go out there make it a point she sees the missing toe. You could be cleaning it or something. The visual of that atrocity hopefully would be stuck in her mind and she'd wouldnt be able to put the dogs down as fast. I'm surprised you didnt have some big breasted babe on your arm at jimmy's show last night pat since in the o and a universe your as big as Brad Pitt lol.

Pat - go for the gold, buddy. However, I saw a show that said that basically the fatter you are, the more you are at a disadvantage. This is because the belly fat limits how much your stomach can expand, and the skinny people almost have an unlimited expansion area for their stomachs.
Take out the "black widow" by showing her you diabetic cock, she will run in fear, and the competiton is yours!
Also, how hot are these wings? Are we talking "nuclear meltdown" hot, or just mildly hot? I could crush some wicked hot wings.

You'll do good pat, if there is a way that you can befriend kobayashi like the night before the competition and see to it that he conveniently goes missing you have one less competitor to worry about. You could always have sex with the black widow and just wear her out, but I know your not underhanded like that.

Just read an article online (Denver Post) - Monday, 10am either on espn or espn2.
I saw last years contest a couple days ago on espn 2 and goddamn was it funny and awful simultaneously. They actually compared that little dink to Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Wayne Gretzky...

Good luck, Pat, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Remember, this skinny fuckin freak of nature Kobayashi, once ate 17.7 pounds of cow brains. With any luck, he'll come down with Mad Cow Disease, and you can win by default. (On the other hand, I guess anyone who would eat that many cow brains probably has no problem with a few pig hairs, tails and snouts).
I am actually surprised that Kobayashi is willing to show up. He was noticeably absent from the World Championship Egg Nog Drinking Contest, which you won. Obviously, he knew he couldn't beat you, and was a no show like the pussy we know he truly is. I know he's eaten lots of dogs and brains before, but we all know that dogs and brains are for pussies, and that the real championship eaters do eggnog! So fuck Kobayashi, and go kick his skinny l'il ass.
You'll always be the champ in my book (until someone drinks more eggnog than you). Good Luck, and keep the rest of your toes!!

Nathan’s Famous July Fourth International Hot dog Eating Contest
Four-time world champion Takeru Kobayashi of Japan will return to the corner of Surf and Stillwell avenues in Coney Island, Brooklyn, on Monday, July 4, 2005 to defend his world championship title at the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
At stake was possession of the Coveted Mustard Yellow International Belt, the World Cup of competitive eating.
Kobayashi earned his status as one of history’s greatest athletes by consuming 50 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes in 2001. In 2004 he consumed 44 ½; in 2003 he consumed 50 ½ and in 2004 he downed 53 ½ hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.
Kobayashi has significant competition this year. In particular, the petite Sonya Thomas, a 100-pound, 37-year-old Korean-born resident of Alexandria, Virginia. Last year, Thomas set a new American hot dog-eating record by consuming 32 hot dogs and buns on July 4. Rich LeFevre of Henderson, Nevada, Cookie Jarvis of Nesconsett, New York, and Badlands Booker of Copaigue, New York, all have eaten in the 30 hot dog range.
The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating contest iss sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) and sponsored by Orbitz.com.

I don't think "standing up" counts as weight lifting, Pat.
Can't wait to see you on TV, though. Any word on if the guys will be there to support you? They should be, even if we don't get to see them on TV or anything it'd be neat for them to be there for ya, mister.
Fuck. Could you guys imagine The Pests showing up and harassing the shit out of the contestants? It'd be a beautiful moment. "Today, world eating champion Takeru Kobayashi was beaten by a man known as 'Pat from Moonachie' in a huge upset. Competitors complained that the crowd was chanting 'Save a hot dog, eat a fetus.', but Pat was strangely unaffected by the crowd. More on this story as it develops."

From the Nathan's website:
According to legend, on July 4, 1916, four European immigrants held an impromptu hot dog eating contest to settle an argument about patriotism. It is decided that whoever can eat the most Nathan's hot dogs is clearly the most American. Irish immigrant James Mullen wins the contest by eating 13 Nathan's hot dogs in buns in 12 minutes, beginning an annual tradition that survives to this day.
Bring it back for the Irish, Pat.

I was on the opposite side so I didn't get good pics of him, but boy that kobayashi was putting them down. Pretty good, although some things could have been done better. Like having the contestant that raps come out and do songs about how he like to eat wasnt necessary nor was the constant reference to corporate sponsers (The Fuji Blimp can suck a cock). And pat from moonachie didnt get alot of attention from the play by play announcer. Otherwise it was good times.

That was one thing that fucking amazed me. In a relativly short time the winner went from 9 1/2 dogs to like 50. I think with a little work alot of people out there could put down 10 in 12 minutes.
On another note, while i was there an old guy in the crowd that walked with a cane pissed his pants and had to take the walk of shame out of the crowd.

I am sure there were a ton of rules/regs about what the contestants can and can't wear.
I heard the announcers say that these guys make a ton of cash doing endorsement deals. The Kobayashi kid made over $500k alone last year.
I bet that Nathans wanted to be shown as the only sponsor in this event, that's why Pat couldn't wear the headband.

Everyone was told , no logos other than the Nathan's brand (Kobe's headband was a Nathan's headband),Eric "Badlands" Booker (F.Y.I. - He's the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet) T-shirt was promoting a competitive eating, rap CD that's associated with the I.F.O.C.E., plus he performed at the event.
Last year Sonya wore a DC-101 hat but this year ESPN clamped down on that kind of stuff, theatening not to run the replays, after I saw the replays, it looked like I didn't get much airtime anyway, at one point they panned the competitors and they stopped at "Crazy Legs" Conti (He works at the Penthouse Executive Club, I'll have to visit him there....Buddy! :action-sm ), I get no respect!...you'd think I was just a big, FATSO, shoving hot dogs down my throat. Also, I'm waiting for the final results to be posted, but I know I placed higher than at least 4 people :icon_mrgr

That was Tim "Eater X" Janis, MTV's taping footage of his exploits for their "True Life" series (I want to be a competitive eater), he's a good guy and a Daytrader, not a dope in MY book.
were there any hot IFOCE groupies?
There were lots of hot asian girls hanging around the bus for Kobayashi, that looked like they wouldn't mind squating on his hot dog (That guy's been working out), I'll bet he's got the world record for "Bearded Clam" eating as well and "Crazy Legs" Conti seems to have a following, not that he needs one, his girlfriend's an "11" :idiot: , he's had articles done on him in Penthouse, FHM, New York Magazine and there's a film about him, "Zen and The Art Of Competitive Eating"
by all means slag me if this was asked in any of the the other 13 pages of this thread, but how is the prize money distributed out for this event.
There's no money, there's a trophy for the first 3 places and the winner also gets the coveted "Yellow Mustard Belt" (looks like a spray-painted, lifting belt that's been "bedazzled"), plus a year's supply of hot dogs (probably only a month's supply for Kobayashi :icon_eek: ), the title's more prestigious.

I think I posted this before, but, the endorsement deals some of these guys get are quite staggering.
They said Kobayashi made over $500k in endorsement deals alone in 2004.
I am sure the IFOCE pays some money to the winners, but it pales in comparison to the money these guys make elsewhere.
