Hey you, the infected masses....

I want to start getting some organization to our individual virus spreading efforts. There are a couple of bands here in Texas that I am street team member with, and we all spread press kits, pull interviews for our own websites, advertise anywhere we can, and spread the word for events when they come to our towns. It does a great job, and the recruit numbers just keep going up. I would love to start one up here in Texas.

Anyone want to start doing something like that for O&A&J? Especially for the states and cities that are just getting turned on. Houston is one city in particular that is fucking STARVING for some type of good radio. Also a large XM market here, and all we have is morning zoo and Walton/Johnson (sucks my white ass).

Any thoughts?

I will also help out in Houston if it is something large that justifies the drive down. I am not talking shit either. I drove down there when Jimmy played the Houston Improv to do a sticker stop.

Any good reason why not? With the job XM has been doing with marketing, why the hell wouldn't anyone want to try and do their part to spread the word.

Most of the rest America never even heard of O&A until the firing. They were not carried in the south. What is the problem with some like minded supporters doing what they can to help get more listeners. XM is still radio, and listeners are the key to any shows success.

They were on here for almost a year before they got into trouble. That is how I got hooked.

In Dallas? Dallas carried Hoo-Hoo Howie for a while too on the Eagle. When were O&A on there? Houston has never carried them, and I don't think anywhere in Louisiana did either, maybe New Orleans, but I'm not sure.

The Eagle actually got rid of Stern in 96 or so and replaced him with Russ Martin. Russ Martin did good in his spot, but did not get along with management. He left and Infinity switched KYNG to a talk format. Martin held the morning slot for a few months and then got switched to afternoons so they could bring Stern back in the mornings. A year or two later in mid 01, they put O&A on from 10pm - 2am. O&A were there for almost a year until they got moved to 7pm - 11 pm and overtaking Leykis' spot. Sex for Sam was about a week after that and it was all over. KYNG is now known as KLLI.

They were on in New Orleans and actually did a live show there at Mardi Gras in 02. Tom from New Orleans was the PD at the station while they were on there.
