remember back in the oldern days....well, maybe not all that oldern, cos they were in color n' such, but remember back when going to concerts was fun? back when you'd look forward to it for months, camp out for tickets for days? get all giddy in anticipation of the BIG EVENT?

you'd roll up to the lot in the requisite vw van owned by your bud's older brother, the keys for which he'd clipped off his dresser err-lye in the mornin (along w/the dimebag stashed in his underwear drawer), smoke billowing out ala fast times as you slide open the door...

there were no hassles, everybody made it in the show and even if you weren't able to clip the dimebag, there was always plenty being passed around and booze flowed aplenty, the sound was good, loud and clear so even the shitty cassette bootlegs that surfaced post concert were at least somewhat listenable to

NOT ANYMORE

oh no, don't even think about going to see, for instance, ozzfest this year--stellar lineup btw: original sabbath, dickinson-fronted maiden, rob zombie, etc, even velvet revolver on some dates, in other words something that would otherwise totally be worth going to but not now--because it's going to be held in the GODDAM TWEETER FUCKING CENTER (owned by clear channel), the asshole of all live venues

the sad truth is that concerts these days are nothing more than clear channel open air no fun zones with shitty acoustics and $10 beer.....

It's still Great Woods to me, just as its it's not the TD Banknorth Garden, it's the Boston Garden. Damn marketing droids wants ads everywhere...

Fortunately CC is gonna sell off the entertainment venues soon. (http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,14173,1473691,00.html)

Rolling Stone magazine blames CC for ticket prices. (http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/_/id/6432174?rnd=1116043222812&has-player=unknown)

We got a Tweeter Center in Joisey too (in the #1 most luxurious city in America. Camden!).
