What is it about Opie that draws all of these nuts to him? He doesn't seem to go out of his way to seek their attention. Bruce Kelly is the latest Al Dukes in a long line of oddballs that are trying to force a friendship with him. It's very entertaining on the air but must be a pain in the ass in real life. He genuinely seems creeped out by these people. Maybe he should switch colognes. Mphhhh hrmppp.

Maybe it's that "V" shape his abs form right below the waist of his pants. Lil' Jimmy may be on to something.

I'm not sure if this was a serious question, but if you want a serious answer Opie is one of the most knowledgeable and influential people in the business, and he has gone out of his way throughout his career to help the people he likes. Kind of like the anti-Hoo Hoo in that regard. When Opie likes someone, he is a shameless promoter on behalf of that person, and busts his ass to make sure they get the recognition they deserve - From Ant to lil' Jimmy to all the other folks that work on the show, to all the comics that have had their careers boosted by their appearances and Opie's plugging, it is not an exaggeration to say that dozens, if not hundreds of people owe their careers in whole or in part to Opie.
Compare the pride and support that Opie shows towards Jimmy's stand-up and HBO work to the way Hoo Hoo treated Stuttering John and Jackie and the way he treats Artie and you'll see the benefits of being Op's friend. That's likely why he got so pissed at Jimmy that day. When you bend over backwards as often as Opie has on behalf of these guys, the last thing you want is someone to insinuate that you're not being polite to them, or whatever the fuck it was Jimmy was trying to say.
So anyway, these people who seek out Opie's friendship, aside from his washboard abs and tussleable hair, are looking for someone to help them in their careers.

I was actually thinking this very same thing today. The Tomato Fucker, that girl who had the hots for Opie's voice, the one armed Bill O'Reilly producer, Stalker Patti, Al Dukes, Bruce Kelly...and I'm probably forgetting a few. Poor fella, I'm sure they hang outside of the skateboard stand waiting for him and his great blonde locks.

He's a decent guy who's good to his fans, but he likes his personal space. He's not trying to be a celebrity, but he wants to maintain being a "regular guy". So what?
(that's just my opinion; I could be wrong)

Opie just has bad luck. That and an ability to make a dominatrix cry and kick a dog in " 'da guts".

I completely agree with that. Opie has shown an incredible degree of loyalty to those in his inner circle. What I don't understand are all these people doing things that will obviously make him uncomfortable in order to try to ingratiate themselves with him. Anyone familiar enough with Opie and the show to be recognize the side you typed about should also know that he hates gifts and unsolicited attention.
What the hell was Bruce Kelly thinking when he dedicated that song?
1)Opie would be flattered, and think..."Bruce is an alright guy. We should hang out."?
2)Opie would find it hilarious, and recognize his comic genius?
3)Opie would fall in love with him, and they would live happily ever after?

Based on what we know of Bruce to date, I'd surmise that number three is feasible.

didn't "5 pumps" stop bothering Op after the pinball incident?
the one armed Bill O'Reilly producer
Look, I know this is just my sickness here, but when a one armed chick is washing her snatch for you... you just HAVE to bang her. It's just rude to refuse it. I mean, she used her ONLY hand to wash her snatch. At least let her suck your cock - you know, to show her your appreciate the effort.
At least at the end of the night you get to blow a load and you have a story about a chick who puts out like a slot machine... the lil one armed bandit herself.

Or at least fingerbang her with her prosthetic hand. You know, for a goof.

I couldnt help but laugh when heard bruce dedicating the roxette song to opie in one of the replays today. At leastit wasnt a devo song like "peek a boo" or "whip it". When they are in dc next week should be interesting to see if Bruce tries to come on the show or if they will try everything they can to alienate themselves from him like keeping dee dee longer than they would just so they can avoid him.

Opie has that special something. That x factor. Just the type of guy you kinda want to be around. He's god damn attractive, and I gotta admit, I'd throw him a cuddle.

I think what attracts people to Opie is his bad boy image. I mean, only the badasses hang out in skate parks and ride their skateboards recklessly in the halls at work. Heads up, Don........the Opster comin at ya!

Nice, a 5 pump chump reference. After the pinball incident, I don't think he had a choice. Ronnie would've killed him. I'll never forget just how mortified R&F were over Al Dukes behavior. I never heard those two happier than when Opie smashed that pinball machine.

Opie truely loves what he does for a living. He seems to care about the quality of the show beyond just receiving a paycheck. I sent him a couple of emails when the show returned on XM giving him a west coast perspective on the replay schedule. He always went out of his way to mention my concerns on the air or fix issues. All three guys on the show are top notch first class. You can tell that they give a shit. Rare in big media these days. That's why I support the show and do all I can to spread the word to friends.

Agreed- I see a lot of him in my old boss, who would rather have the whole team succeed than be out purely for personal gain. He's no dummy- he recognizes talent when he sees it, and he doesn't try to be the star of the show all the time.
...But then again I don't know if this is the reason that a lot of these creeps latch on to him.
Anthony seems to just shut out ANY possibility of people gaining an insight to his personal life (apart from what we hear on the radio, that is). Meanwhile, Opie's rollerblading (oops, sorry 'inline skates') in Central Park, goes to the comedy clubs, and is just generally 'out & about' while ol' Anthony Hughes is making virtual arrows on his 'puter and working on his next million via PartyPoker.com.
