Virus Spreading & Hot Dog Eating in East Hartford, CT.

I will be at the Nathan's Famous hot Dog Eating Contest, Qualifier in East Hartford, CT. tomorrow (5-21-05) at 12pm (starts at 1pm) and I'll be wearing my WOW/O&A hat and my Wackbag shirt if I'm allowed.....there MAY be local news coverage (taped?) so if anyone's in the area, come on by! :action-sm ....and watch me lose! :puke: I'm hoping to do 20 dogs in the 12 minute contest!

They won't be going live, but I am sure a local news truck will be there and tape a piece for the nightly news cast. If you're the winner, I am sure they will get a few words from you. At the least will will get to see you and your 4x Wackbag shirt in some shag shots.

Well I just got back, I scarfed down 15 & 1/2 hot dogs in 12 minutes, not bad but I wanted to do 20!, I got 4th or 5th place , the winner was Tim Janus aka "Eater-X", with 25 I believe.....I'm a little punchy......I have nitrates and the USDA allowance of rodent hairs in my bloodstream!....not alot of media there, exept for a country station & The Hartford Advocate (gay??) and a guy writing a book about competitive eating there'll be video somewhere, when I find out where, I'll post it!.......I was told I did good for my first time out! :icon_mrgr

It's off to Philadelphia next week! :icon_eek:

A horrific oversight or snub on their part.A couple reasons, First, I don't think they work with drinking contests, that might be Guinness's territory!....Secondly, they (like alot of people!) were unaware of O&A or XM, especially back in December when they were on for only a little over 2 months!:icon_sad: (I gave them the "Worst Of" and made a CD out of the "Egg Nog Challenge", so they know now! :icon_mrgr )

I forgot to mention how funny I found it that they made a big deal about Pat doing so well in his first "event". Seriously, is it really this great skill that you harness over time? You just put the fucking hot dogs in your mouth and eat them. I can imagine Pat going through a Rocky-esque montage to get ready for the next event.

I hope that Pat tells about his adventures on the show since his calls always amuse me. And maybe the kind fellow who swiped his MyFi would record the appearance for him.
