Quick version:
Started seeing her about a year ago. A few months later she was getting kicked out of her place that she shared with her ex from a few years ago. I told her she could stay with me for a while (we agreed on a few weeks). One night at 3 am after going to see friends for a few days she called and told me she was *****, so like a gullible idiot I drive upstate to get her. As we're leaving the motel, she causes a major scene and I got locked up for several days. It was basically guilt by association where afterwards I was locked in what was 1 step above a dungeon where I didn't eat and was bitten by alot of different insects which caused my legs to swell up to the point where I couldn't walk. It fucked my back up where I was delerious and for a day thought I had seen my parents and friends killed (the charges were eventually dropped when it became obvious that I did nothing except be in the wrong place). After a week of recovery at my parents house I decided to go home, she shows up a few hours later apparantly to pick a fight with me. I decide to go out and later that night return to find her in my bed naked and straddling the ex who allegedly "*****" her and who I forbade from being in my home. I told them both to get out and when they refused I called the cops to escort them out. She eventually returned after tearing off the plates on my car. I went to file a report and was told by the police that if I returned (to my own home), I'd probably be arrested again on her accusation alone. She continued to remain as a squatter there until about December. The old job heard about my little incident upstate and fired me for not telling them, even though the charges were still pendidng & I couldn't discuss it with anyone except my attorney, and excess absense, even though they told me to take a week when I got back from the hospital and the 3 other doctors I had to see (with notes from each). I'm okay with that now. I was looking to leave anyway, I just wanted it to be on my own terms. The money I spent was on bail, hospital & doctor bills, legal fees, the crew I had to hire to retrieve my stuff, my car impound fee and the settlement to get out of my lease from my old landlord. The cute thing is; this was money I had set aside to buy a house. All because of two naieve decisions I made trying to help someone out. The most expensive lesson I might've ever learned.

Wow, I can't believe that was the short version. I don't usually open up this much, and although I've only met a few of you in person, I oddly didn't mind writing this. I suppose that's a compliment, but I could be wrong. I also haven't totally given up on dating so perhaps that means I haven't fully learned my lesson yet.
