I'm actually going back and listening to some of the old shows lately.
I still can't figure out how they made it off WBAB. I just listening to the drown cuban drown song. If that was performed today they'd have hung them out to dry.
Though a lot of the WNEW material seems to flow better. It's almost as if they haven't found their pace yet on xm.
Right now I'm listening to Opie and Anthony go back and forth with the Staple gun and the newspaper stapling themselves in the leg.

Actually Opie from the WBAB days was one if the better DJ's on that station. The cuban song was played all day not just Opie's shift. Plus had many other ones which were much worse btw...

I agree listening to that was the worst. Remember the day after that like 40 mins of callers cursing them out about that incident.

It's been mentioned in a different thread before, but it has to be posted again here. If Paul Mercurio hadn't shot off his mouth like he did, if he had just had walked out with the couple, then possibly nothing would have come from it. Listen to what the security guys says after Paul says something to him...if Paul hadn't got mouthy with the guy chances are the guy would never have called the cops...

Regan definitely saved that show. At the end you can tell Opie knew that that was the end by saying "Your Mom's Box". Anthony goes "Oh no", but then realizes it probably is the end. And wouldn't you know it, lil Jimmy said the very last words at NEW.
Like Ant once said, "Goddamn that guy knows how to ride coat tails. Watch out Colin, you'll be next." Which is funny, 'Tough Crowd' was cancelled not all that long before XM202 debuted.

I haven't listened to the show, but I think it would be a little easier now. Sure, we know how it ends, with the 2 year hiatus. However, the boys are back and uncensored. Now if we could just get Ben on board with some of the bits.... :action-sm

Listening to SFS4 is a lot harder since the boys get such a laugh and praise Pauls "balls" when he runs his mouth to the cops and security about first amendment right...
The final show is just the last words before the executioners flip the switch

Yeah i remember that day it was aweful, that was the next to last time i ever listened to WYSP. I turned it on a few weeks later just in the faint hope there would be some replays and heard Don & Mike...after that Wysp & all infinity channels were permenantly removed from my pre-sets. Thank god for XM

Now, if it weren't for that show, we would have never been introduced to don and mike in buffalo.. and say what you will about those guys, but they put out a darn good radio show, and buffalo loved them in return

Not to go off topic, but Kazaa had crap in the way of O&A. Thankfully, there was this little known website (http://www.oavirus.com) that had some O&A material. Now I'm not one to give out gratuitous plugs (http://www.eatabullet.com) but this website (http://www.oavirus.com) might be something worth checking out. Jus' sayin'...

hearing it live that day, I really thought they would pull through it all sooner. I was stupefied when I heard later that the show had been shut down. Well, at least they're back now and will hopefully continue getting the band back together.

I caught it about halfway through live on my afternoon drive, just to hear the aftermath. As soon as I realized that the lawyers were involved and the PB&J references were flying around, I knew it was over. Two years of Staplegun Challenge and the Non-pluralizing Murderer bits, while certainly fun, just didn't fill the void.

Anybody else notice the whole baseball strike and the whole "we will be back!" thing from Opie? I noticed the whole we're f'ed thing a few years ago. It really sucks to listen to that show now, since we all know what happens in the end. I will say however, I like the show on XM A LOT better in several respects.

I remember hearing the whole thing after school. All the PB&J refrences and everything. The worst part was the 2 yr break. For those two years all I did was burn and listen to about 60 hours of old O&A clips compiled together. I couldn't stand to not hear them. If it wasn't for XM I probably would go crazy.

Remember those last couple of shows with a combination of sadness and anger. Anger at f*****Mecurio, who would just shut the f**** and didn't argue with the cop, maybe then just maybe, things would have gone as a bad as they did. Sadness that I didn't get to hear the last show, was at work. Then the next day came they best of show, then came the news that they were fired. My afternoons on my days off were ruined for two years. You know what that last show needs to be burned and never spoken of again.

Yeah it really sucked for me being in DC. The next day I had to sit and listen to Don and Mike laugh at them. I hope Don wakes up with Hodgkins disease

Welcome Ronald McDonald Face!!!
I actually got in my car in Jersey and just drove around in circles for a few hours during the final show. It was painful to listen to, and Op whispering "we're effed" still gives me goose bumps. I remember tuning into Ron and Fez the day the show was cancelled, and that was another tough show to listen to. I believe Ron mentioned that they were getting a telepathic message from "the ghosts" and it said, "we're fine and we're figuring things out" or something like that. That was a bit comforting to hear at that time cuz we all knew who the "ghosts" were.
But then, the next day, I wanted to hang myself after hearing that Leykis took their slot on WNEW. Lickass immediately mentioned that his show is now back on in NYC and went on a long rant about how much he hates WNEW and ONA. From then on, i only tuned into WNEW between 7-11 at night for RNF.
