Actually, it is because criminal gangs move in with it. Immigration is the number one reason I'm no longer a Republican. America may be a less racially aware country, but the Mexicans are for the most part a racially unified people (with white looking president) and are just as determined to retake Aztlan (the Southwest) as the Germans were to unify their nation under Bismarck, or the Israelis are to expand into all of Jerusalem. In all 3 cases, they see the land as rightful theirs and will do everything to retake it.

Now let's say you create group for White Civil Rights (http://www.whitecivilrights.com/end_discrimination.shtml) you'd be called a Nazi. If you create a group called the National Council of the (Mexican) Race (http://www.nclr.org/) you're fine. Why am I supposed to accept anti-white racism (affermative action) and miscegenation (race mixing)? Why can't I and my like minded European brothers have political parties? "Nazis, Nazis" the brainwashed chant, nevermind that until the last 100 years or so, racial pride was the norm. I'd gladly move to a country that supported my views, but then the UN, which does not care about massacres in Africa, would "intervene" and install an occupied government. I agree. I'm a hispanic, latino, chicano or whatever is on a job application. My family was/is from the original state of texas that belonged to mexico. But once texas became part of the US (probably the best thing to happen to texas in my oppinion being a texan) my family became american. So I was born and raised here. American 100%. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Same thing for all of my family down the line. But it's not only "whites" that hate this crap too. We, hard working hispanics that work hard to get an education and live in middle/upper class areas, pay taxes and everything else that every other "ethnicity" does in the US, also hate what is going on. I'm from Laredo TX. Litterally right next to mexico. The border is a war zone. Kidnappings everywhere you look, gangs fighting for drug terratories...we hate it too. So I don't think it's a racial thing...if this were to happen with canada (which are mostly white) it'd be the same attitude but just so happens that it's mexico. Racial issues isn't the problem. It's political.

Now back to the original topic at hand, the issue is 100% about illegal immigration and the ill affects from it, not all immigration. This nation was founded on immigration, but nowadays we have higher standards and should expect to screen out criminals from amongst the other immigrants. On top of which, we cannot allow the job market to be flooded. Growth is good, and the markets have a way of balancing themselves out, but too quick growth doesn't give the markets a chance to. Free market turnaround time isn't instant.
