I have recently have given blood and would suggest more and more people to give. I felt so great knowing that I might have saved someone's life. The people that I have had it done by said they are in very short supply, especially in the Tri-State area.

Here are some Links so you can help out...

I can't donate. They won't take my blood.

The Red Cross is actually pretty restrictive when it comes to donating blood. They won't accept blood from gay men, nor from anyone who has spent more than 6 months in England (because of fears of Mad Cow), as well as a lot of other restrictions.

Not if they have taken my blood. The pretzels and orange juice afterwards were the best part. Oh, and rubbing my arm against the breast of a volunteer as she grabbed my arm to help lead me off the table and to the snacks.

So yes, please give blood.

Yes that is very true. I always have to fill out like 20 minutes of fill-in the blank questions of sexual things, travel and other intresting questions. The best part of my last donation was that I received two free movie tickets.

Ok.

Yea you would probably pass out if you did since the weight that your at. I saw a girl pass out all dramatically once. It actaully was kinda funny how she did it. She put her hand up to her head in a dramatic fashsion and fell slowly to the mattress. She was fine though.

I always try to give one time a year and I always get turned down for being anemic. I've only been able to give blood once and I had to take iron 4 times a day for 3 months to do it.

I give blood as often as I come across a drive-I have a card and everything. If you can, give platelettes. Its a little uncomfortable and takes longer than donating blood, but it can provide like 4 more people blood. Donating blood only can help one person at a time. Something like that.
I wanted to donate on Tuesday, but I'm sick so I'm not sure they'd take it. There's a drive at my local hospital one of these Friday's I believe.

I like to donate- cheap high.

Before you go gung ho about donating blood, I would suggest doing some research about the places that you're going to donate it to. Especially before you end up with something you didn't go there with...

I use to donate blood all the time. I can't do it anymore because I have pernicious anemia now, but if I could I would.

I give blood whenever I get a chance. But, they always poke the shit out of my arms in the process. They always have a hard time getting the vein.

I'm an organ donor. When I'm dead they can dissect me, eat my organs, and drink my blood. While I'm alive, I'm keeping my stuff.

Yep. That really bugs me. Doesn't matter if you've slept with hundreds of people, as long as they are all the opposite sex of you, you can still give blood. But a gay person with one partner can't give blood. And actually, gay virgins can't either. I, however, take medications and therefore they won't take my blood (or so I was told once, and haven't bothered to check since then).
