If the street name offends you, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU MOVE THERE????

This pisses me off as much as the people that moved next to the tiger lady in Jackson, NJ, and then wanted her to get rid of her tigers. (She was there long before they were.)

Some Residents Of Hitler Road Want Street Name Changed

POSTED: 9:54 am EDT June 23, 2005

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- It's not hard to remember Jim White's address.

He's one of the people who lives on Hitler Road in Circleville, Ohio.

The folks in the area are used to questions and strange looks about the street name. Hitler Road predates the Nazi dictator. Long before Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany, the Pickaway County Hitlers were well-known farmers in Circleville and have three roads named after them.

Some residents would like the street names changed. But not White. He's a World War II infantry veteran and said at least the Hitler street is one of a kind.

Not to come off as a professor Anthony, but if Hitler would have died in 1938, we would have thought he was a great leader. He pulled Germany out of the shitter....but he didn't, and he is a shitdick.

I agree that you just should not move there if you have a problem with it, but the tiger thing is a different story IMO.

Are the streets lined with Jewish gravestones (ala "Schindler's List")?

It is a totally different story. And that woman was lying to everyone about what she had. She only admitted to have a certain number of animals on her property when, in fact, she had several more than she admitted to. You cannot fault other people when she was lying to everyone about it.

Totally different? Yes and no. It's not like living on Hitler St. is going to get you mauled by a wild animal. I get that. And I'm not familiar with all the details of the tiger lady story so I don't know if she lied or not. Regardless, people should do a little research before they go buying houses in new developments. She was there first, and had every right to continue to live there with her animals.

Perhaps you should get the whole story before you use the example. You want to know how that whole thing went down? A tiger got out of the woman's property and proceeded to run around Jackson for an entire day. It went through town and close to a middle school. Tranquilizer darts shot by the cops would not stop it, so they were forced to kill it. When they went to the woman's house to see if the tiger came from there (after Six Flags was able to account for all of theirs), she lied to the cops and said that all 15 of the tigers she had permits for were accounted for. Of course, when they forced their way to see for themselves, it was realied that she had more than that and one of them was hers.*

But this is the reason the tigers were taken from her:

The investigators were disturbed by the conditions they found at Tigers Only Preservation Society. In court papers it was noted: “The applicant’s tiger facility was a ramshackle arrangement with yards (compounds), chutes, runs, and shift cages...some of which were covered by deteriorating plywood, stockade fencing and tarps, etc....The periphery fence (along the border of the property), intended to keep out troublemakers, was down in several places. There was standing water and mud in the compound. There was mud on the applicant’s tigers.” There were deer carcasses scattered around the property, rat burrows, and thirty-five large angry dogs in a separate pen near the tigers. The one wandering tiger suddenly seemed inconsequential; the inspectors were now much more concerned about the fact that Marasek had at least seventeen living in what they considered sorry conditions, and that the tigers were not being kept for theatrical or educational purposes but as illegal pets. Anyone with the type of permit Marasek had must file information about their animals’ work schedule, but the state had no records of the tigers ever performing or anyone attending an educational program at Tigers Only. The one Marasek tiger with a public profile was Jaipur, who weighed more than one thousand pounds and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest Siberian tiger in captivity. In court papers, Marasek also described Marco as “a great exhibit cat” – this was by way of explaining why she doted on him, even though he had killed Diamond and Hassan – although as far as anyone could tell, Marco had never been exhibited.

If you haven't figured it out, I live in Jackson.

*I will concede that it was never actually proven that the tiger belong to her (autopsy was inconclusive), but c'mon!!!!!

This was a statement from a neighbor:

“If someone had told me there were tigers here I would have never bought the house,” one of Marasek’s neighbors said one afternoon. His name was Kevin Wingler, and where his lawn ends, the Maraseks’ property begins. He is a car collector, and he was in his garage at the time, tinkering with a classic Corvette he had just bought. “I love animals,” he said. “We get season’s passes every year for the Great Adventure safari, and whenever I’m out I always pet all the cows and all the pigs, and I think tigers are majestic and beautiful and everything. But we broke our ass to build this house, and it’s just not right. I could have bought in any development! I even had a contract elsewhere but the builder coaxed me into buying this.” He licked his finger and dabbed at a spot on the dashboard and laughed. “This is just so weird,” he said. “You’d think this would be happening in Arkansas or something.”

Who stops to think, are there tigers living on a nearby property? It is hard to fault the guy for not knowing beforehand.

Well, no shit. You mean there's more than one Hitler family? Is there more than one Smith family too?
Some residents would like the street names changed.

These oversensitive pricks....Jesus Christ! Oh, was that too harsh? Oh well. If the street wasn't named for Adolph, it should be allowed to stay. If you don't like it, don't live there.

This is like the groups who want the names of sports teams changed for being "offensive", though they've been around for years. Like the Atlanta Braves and the Kansas City Chiefs. Oddly enough, there isn't an uproar about Duke Blue Devils or Wake Forest Demon Deacons though there is one about a high school team called the Satans.

This isn't the worst I've seen though. That would be in my junior year of high school where a black student suggested her Spanish teacher use a different word for "black" instead of the common "negro" (pronounced neh-groh, not nee-groh).

Some fuck face assemblyman in NJ wants to change the name of the Devils because it's satanic. I emailed the douche and reminded him that 1) there's a lock out so it's currently a non-issue 2) the state has SO MANY bigger problems 3) it's part of NJ folklore and what makes this state so cool.

I don't know for a fact but I have heard this; after WWII, most people with the last name HITLER changed their last name to HILLER.
I would imagine people with the first name ADOLPH changed their name to BRANDON. :icon_lol:
