Same thing for AIM, the new message sound is like an error message sound. If i play a file throgh winamp or something its fine. XMRO, fine

Im using firefox by the way

Sounds like a codec or soundcard issue.

You're streaming audio through Quicktime? All of my streaming audio goes either through WMP or RealPlayer.

uninstall quicktime and then reinstall, It's safe.
