I did a stint as a popcorn slinger at a Loews as a kid, and you're right. We were told to upsell the shit outta EVERYBODY!!!! Nobody got spared. Even if it was only one lil guy seein a movie by himself, if it was at all possible he was walking away with a giant popcorn, a gallon of soda, and more candy than you'd find in the corner candy store. It was truly ridiculous.

BTW, a lot of people think TBS is only cable. Where I live, TBS comes over a tower. It's WTBS-TV channel 17. High definition it's WTBS-DT channel 20. They play the Braves games in HD. So it's subject to public indecency guidelines. They did however play Mr. Show with less edits. Bob kept screaming "He beat the shit out of me!" in one skit.

Blockbuster's massive international permeation and domination of the video market has placed certain business practices under scrutiny. If you keep it beyond a certain time they charge you for the movie. If it is returned, they will refund the money less a restocking fee. No more late fee just restocking fee.
