Anybody pick this game up? I picked it up about 4 days ago for my Xbox and love it! The "Race for the Heisman" feature is great! The play choices are pretty sweet. And the fact that you can take the player you created all the way from the highschool tryouts/freshman year to the senior year (in which you attempt a run for the heisman)and then able to get your player drafted or "carried over" to Madden '06 makes it pretty interesting and fun. If anybody has this I'll probably be on tonight/weekend on Xbox Live as BusyChild04 and with my Texas Longhorns :icon_wink .

Do the fucking recievers catch the damn ball this year? Last year was ruined as even star players dropped the ball a bunch, so Me and my bro and law kept playing 2004. Cool I will have to pick the new one up.

I agree. 2005 was a mess when it came to the passing game. But it's improved quit significantly. they actually catch the ball. The only time they drop it is when the QB has people in his face or the reciever is being messed with. Other than that they catch 95+/-% of the time. The running game has been improved as well.

i want so bad to buy this game but after last years i just can't do it. I have all but quit buying ea games now. Tiger woods has gone down hill imo and ncaa has really fallen off with all the new shit they have been adding. I used to love this franchise but no i loathe it.

Last years seemed to really have a lot of computer assistence in it. I played a friend who had never played xbox nor had he played ncaa and he beat me. I completed the first 4 or 5 passes and was up 14 - 0 and all of a sudden i fumbled the ball about 4 or 5 times and did not complete another pass. this was the last time i played that game. Just really pisses me off that they take away the skill from the game and replace it for "fairness" or "balance".

agreed. Rent it first, and then see what you think. I hated 2005 and was ok with 2004. But this one is quite the improvement...

Or download, burn, done.... I mean copy of bought game! I'd be bored to hell without my dvd burner and modded xbox. Looks like the game is getting better reviews then last year so its a definate must try.

the ONLY thing I don't like is how certain rivalry or "big test" games such as the Texas vs. OU game, it's somewhat realistic. The OU running game is insane and my longhorns commit alot of mistakes...I don't know if that was done on purpose by EA or I was having a bad night.

luckily USC lost to UCLA and that bumped me up to #1 and they were dropped to #6. Looks like I dodged a game with USC. One other thing I noticed is that most games I've played during the season have been in rain. I don't get that.

my buddy bought it and we tried a game on my hd bigscreen with good hookups and it looks like shit. The game has actually lost some of the graphics that it had last year even. The game seemed to play ok, but i am so burned on EA sports all together, I hated it. We didn't make it through the first game before it was returned to EB.

Maybe you guys can answer this for me, if they can put up good graphics on a PC, why can't they take that over to xbox for a good transfer? I understand that some compromises have to be made to get it on the disk but the game looked like shit. I was under the impression, from early reports from devs that liked the xbox, that a lot of the code was the same as that of a pc. I am not sure of this but that was my understanding and that xbox would get some good titles due to that fact.

PC's are still far more advanced graphics wise and the fact that you can always get a graphics card that is better than the one currently on the xbox is a big factor. PC's are on a daily evolution. You can buy the "best" pc out now and by tomorrow one thats better will already be out. Plus the xbox came out in 2001. Almost 4-5 years ago so our eyes have already gotten used to the graphics. And I agree with you on EA. I myself am not a big EA fan. I didn't play Madden 2005 or anything like that so I can lay off it a while. The EA BIG series are shit. EA runs more on it's name and "legacy" than current quality. The game play on this game is great, but graphics aren't impressive. EA always bends us over one way or the other.
