I have been listening for about a year on XM. I have a question for you long time listeners. Were the boys on in New Orleans at one time? I was working there and heard a bit about them ripping someone's (may have been Patty's) fake wig off. Maybe something about cancer was involved. We got off work one day and sat in the car for an hour and a half laughing our asses off. I remember the sad little music that plays when someone gets kicked off the show being played while this was happening. Thanks for helping me out.

I listened back in the WNEW days, and I was a wackbag member back in 2001. However, when they went off the air, I became so depressed I couldn't even bear to go to wackbag anymore. When I found out they were coming back, I was so excited that I forgot to get to wackbag until Feb. 2005. I tried and tried to remember my old handle, but I just couldn't, and unless some mod steps up and helps me, I fear it is gone for good. So, here I am, O&A fan version 2.0.

I remember hearing O&A on the radio alot when I would be going somewhere with my mom in the car. It was her most listened to show. I was really to young to get into it all that much back then. After they went away we forgot about them unitll we got XM last December. We had the premium channel on both of our radios and I have never missed a single show since!

Right here!
Actually a NH guy who "knew" of O&A before they got kicked outta Boston. Since all the press was bad, i really had no reason to listen.
Skip forward to Feb..
I'm an automotive journalist and GM feeds me cars with XM all the time, Since Jan 02 when things began. Finally bought myself XM in Feb. When O&A went free in April, I tried them out, and LOVED it ever since. Can't miss a morning now. Dumb media making so many lies and ruining such a good show!!! O&A Party Rock!

I joined Wackbag in October of 2004, but I've been a loyal listener since either 98 or 99... the first show I heard was the day the bbbboys sent Psycho Mark into the hospital with some KFC to try and give it to that morbidly obese guy that had to be removed from his house with a forklift.
I never heard of O&A befor, being that I'm over on the west coast, used to take little interest in national media, and used to hardly ever listen to any kind of radio.
I heard about XM radio when it came out, and thought it was interesting, but never wanted to get it considering its subscription based, as well as my affor mentioned apathy towards radio in general.
One time I was on Newgrounds.com and saw a few flashes (I think the one that stuck out in my head was the popski the sailor man bit, I loved anthonys impression right off the bat). I looked around for more info on them, and found some of their bits and got really interested. I signed up for the free trial, and heard my first full O&A show, Tippy Toms first appearance on XM back in mid november. I was hooked inside of an hour easily.
I heard about wackbag and OpieAnthony.net and checked em both out (didn't feal like signing up for either, so just browsed wackbag since reading the posts didn't require signing up). After a while I decided I wanted to be able to interect from time to time, so I registered and pop in when I'm in the mood

My little story of talk radio...
I started out with the milk of Rush Limbaugh, from there I went on to Stern and Don and Mike. Not knowing any better I thought that those were the best shows ever, but I then bought my first XM in early 2002 when I started listening to Bubba the Love Sponge and The Monsters of the Midday (now mornings....not that I can listen since I now listen to every O&A program twice). When XM changed the 152 channel arround listened to it almost non-stop with the exception of The Philips Phile...I gave it a month and realized that it was so bad I believed that stethoscopes were getting better ratings. I had heard of O&A because of S4S3, but when I heard they were coming to XM Idecided to subscribe. October 4th could have been the best and worst day of my life. I can't stop listening to the program, and O&A are the main reason that I've purchased a 200 GB external hard drive, since I feel my company would frown on me putting 40 GB of O&A material on my laptop (thanks be to the virus spreader, and Fedex at http://oavirus.com . O&A are a breath of fresh air...they are actually honest and tell about what happens in their lives...this is what I enjoy the most.
Real life is great and shit, and O&A display this better than anyone.

I just signed up on wackbag yesterday, I moved to Jersey around april of '02, I never heard about them because I've never been one to listen to terrestial radio. Then I was telling a friend of mine out here about this internet show I used to listen to called the Dan and Scott show (great show and I still miss it, they went off the air sometime in '01) then he was telling me about O&A and how they got taken off the air due to the church incident. I got XM in july of '04 and they went on XM in october. I didn't sign up right away, me and a friend of mine went on a road trip towards the end of october to visit some friends from where we used to live (central Illinois) and on the drive back we were trying to find something to listen to, so I got on the ol' cell phone and signed up for the show. we were laughing our asses off the whole trip back and I've been listening almost non stop ever since. I've since ordered both of li'l Jimmy's CD's and am hoping to catch him live sometime.

I bought my wrecker last Jan..Bought my XM direct for the tow truck on Oct 2. I'm glad to hear the virus is spreading so well. I've actually been a listener since 2000 back on WNEW when I lived in Jersey. I was curious as to why so many trucks had 'WOW' etched on the back. Then, I recall seeing some guy with WOW on a big piece of cardboard taped to his bumper, so I had to ask around. At that same time, I was enjoying some bits (100 Grand, Delta Ebonics, They Call My Name's Bill, Who is is this?) I had gotten off of Napster, and later learned that most of the bits and WOW were from the ONA show. So I listened, and became absolutely hooked.
I always browsed Wackbag and signed up in 2003 during the boys 2 year vacation. At that time, I may be wrong, but there were probably 4,000 wackbaggers, maybe even less. It's amazing we're nearing 20,000.

I've actually been a fan for a long ass time. I heard the thing at St Pat's and I was there when I heard the guys do the Dice on Ice bit. (2002ish I think?)
The thing was that they were just taped and played on the local 105.3 fm here in Dallas, so I didn't have the luxury of being a part of the show way back when. I bought a new Chevy truck about 4 months ago and holy shit, Opie and Anthony!
So I guess I've been a lazy ass fan, but yeah, I love these tools, and I'll take on any Pat Battlefield they lay before me.

I talked to Jimmy briefly at Newark Airport as I was getting off of a plane and he was boarding one last summer when he told me that they were coming back. As soon as I got back home, I ordered XM and spread the virus to my brother and my father.
Hello fellow asshats.
I listened to O&A during their AAF days (I thought the Menino prank was hilarious) and only could occasionally on NEW listen to them until they came back to XM for free. The fact that I had never heard of them is odd because I used to live in Saratoga Springs, NY and my sales territory went from Boston to Buffalo. I spent a lot of time in the car listening to shitty radio. During the mid-90's when Hoo Hoo actually did a show (I thought Billy West was the funniest fucking thing on radio) and started to syndicate his show all over upstate NY and New England I just couldn't get enough. I'm sure if I knew O&A were in Boston, or if I could have heard the initial syndication out of Rochester I would have loved it. My loss.
2001 moved to Charlotte, and found out what shitty radio really was. At that time Hoo Hoo was one of the only things on, but he was unlistenable then. Just bitching and whining about everything, no gags. It got so Bad I had to listen to John Boy and Billy. My sense of humor went into a coma.
Christmas 2004 got XM. Listened to O&A for the first time during the free online trial. Bernie Getz was the first thing I ever heard. Been infected with the virus ever since, and have spread it to 5 other people. Now when I see midgets, the lame or crippled, or shwoogies I just lauch my ass off.

That was THE FUNNIEST 2 HOURS EVER. My friend and I were driving down the shore and couldn't stop laughing about that.
They played the hulk music too. She wouldn't stop crooiiiiii-ing too. Fantastic.

New wackbagger, used to listen to them off WYSP in Philly. Didn't like them at first, but was glued to their 9/11 broadcast (they were much closer to it than anything else on local radio), and stayed with them as they eased back into the funny. Been hooked ever since.

Total newb since I got Xm. That's when I got the XM through the slick deals website. Nothing better than O&A on a $30.00 Myfi.
Before O&A forced to listen to whoohoo, and mancowdisease, yuck.
No comparison between O&A and the rest. Stern sucks, Phile sucks twato's juice.

I knew who O&A were from the 'publicity' they received a few years back and thought they were dickbags, no way I would spend $2/month on them.
Listened to the freebies and wasn't really swayed.
Once they hit for free, I caught myself tuning in more and more. I finally started getting the in-jokes and was enjoying it more. All told, it took me about 6 weeks to really start to groove with them. I think the first time I realized it was Jimmy's rant on Draggin' Wagon. I was almost in tears.
This whole Philps things has had me dying each and every day. I have laughed (loffed) out loud so much lately that I am questioning my mental state. I think the virus has me.
I just had to register here to be able to get in during attack days. I hope I am able to contribute a little.

I just started listening about a two months ago. I had Sirius, and was tired of no good talk shows, and really repetitive play lists. I was thinking about making the switch to XM, but I wasnt sure. I posted a thread over at IGN, and One_With_Dog was very instrumental in getting me all the info that I could possibly need, and I have been hooked ever since! Everyday is still a fun learning process for me when I am listening to O&A. I even bought an Airware so I can record them everyday, and learn even more about what is going on.

I'm from Boston and I had heard of them when they were on WAAF. I never actually listened, because WAAF sucks so bad, you can't even get a signal when you are in the city.
Fast forward to when they made their return to Boston in syndication. I didn't listen at first, because I thought they were clones, hoo hoo! One day I flipped on WBCN while they were on and listened for a little bit. They were playing clips of the retarded Laverne and Shirley interviewing people at the WTV awards. I immediately went, "Stuttering John" and tuned out. Well, that day was September 10th 2001. We all know what happened the next day.
On 9/11, I was starved for news, but was away from a tv for most of the day. So, I heard about 9/11 while listening to Stern, then pour over the coverage via Stern and websites. Since I was without a tv, I kept my radio on. That is was the first full O&A show I listened to. Then I basically just kept listening to the show, and I found myself infected.

I bought my Roady2 in Jan. 05, and specifically for listening to O&A, and better music.
I recently joined wackbag, I believe in quality of posts, not quantity.
I had heard of O&A when the "sex in the church" episode broke in the media. I had never listened to them prior to Jan. 05 because their show wasn't in my market, being the south, specifically Charlotte NC. Hoo hoo howard's show was in Charlotte but it got pulled about 3 years ago when the sponsors(bible thumpers and right-wingers) got tired of his show and they stopped advertising with the local station and they axed him.
O&A and Jimmy are one of the best parts of my daily routine. O&A PARTY ROCK!

I never heard of them before I got XM at Christmas last year, and saw nothing to convince me to pay the extra fee. Had I any Idea what they were like to listen to, I would have gladly payed double per month. I am a long time, Rush, Hannity, and Liddy fan as well as a complete news junkie. As far as comedy goes, there was nothing here but bob and tom on commercial radio. Now I cant stand them and I rarely listen to anything talk wise other than O&A now. It is strangely addictive, as I will listen to replays I have already heard over other things unless something really big is going on. I keep thinking it is a phase as far as that goes, but I have been this way since they went off premium. It is like NO other show, and nothing else comes close to being as funny.

The preston and steve show on WMMR seems to be the local FM radio talk show craze, even taking away stern listeners here.. Never listened to the show myself, who needs them..

I've been a faithful listener since the start of the WNEW days, and even used to listen to Opie on occasion on WBAB. I've checked out this site a few times but never really posted before. With the recent wave of attacks, I had to jump on here somewhere. I'd love to get in on the attacks, but I cant listen to XM at work, my old Mac there cant stream it, and I have no view of the souther sky. I had to buy a second Roady to run off my computer and home and shoutcast it to work, so I listen to the boys like 3x a day!

I'd heard of these guys, but assumed it was the same old radio DJ bullshit as all of the others. I HATE radio people. I know radio people, ...and I HATE radio people. They are the bottom feeders of the music industry, yet if you talk to one, they'd have you believe that they are the oil that runs the music engine.......yyyeeechhh. There was no way i would've payed a for a premium channel with ANYthing on it, let alone some freakin' radio boobs. But since I've tuned in about 3 months ago, i can't quit listening. I would pay twice the amount for XM to tune in to O&A. This shit ROCKS!!

first "accidently" found the boys on this shit radio station (1550 am)here in the bay area, ca a few years back while flipping the dial for something to listen to during lunch. I remember the first show...it was a "worst of" and it the first bit was the bellvue special on hbo. the first live show i heard was ant's divorce and the boys and listeners ripping on him..classic. I was hooked instantly. unfortunately, a few months later the whole saint pat's thing went down. They were then replaced in their time slot here with "gasp" don and mike. hate to admit it but I actually listened to them for a while. finally got back into the boys a few months back and haven't missed a show since.

I've been listening to these guys since their first day on WNEW when they switched to the all talk format - best thing to happen to radio in years. Then I took the plunge last december and bought my XM - I rarely switch from 202
Became a Ron & Fez fan back then too - anyone remember when they were Ron&Fez.com - looking forward to the AFRO shows again. --punchin' out

Hi Sock, well to tell you the truth about the Pat Battle thing is like an Oxy Moron thing. Ive been an O&A listener from their early days on AAF and the Pat Battle thing is just as perplexing to me as it is to you. The one thing I do Know about Pat Battle is that she is a woman reporter and golfer that has a really nice smile, almost like she is ready to serve me Pancakes in the morning with lots of butter and wonderfull tasty maple suryp, yummie ! Oh boy Im gettin a woody

i wasn't gonna add my story were, since i've i've been listening to O&A since 1999, but i figured, "what the hell, why not?" so i'll give you the abbreviated version.
i initially heard about O&A through my sister, who heard about them from their article in then-WWF Raw Magazine. i wasn't big on radio back then, so i didn't take notice then. i actually started listening in 1999 when i heard the local oldies station WCBS FM out of New York (i was a teenager at the time, so my father ruled the car radio, meaning CBS FM was always on) making fun of some guys named Opie and Anthony, and i recognized their names from when my sister mentioned them. i got home that day, fished out the Raw Magazine, found the article and the station they were on, and tuned it. as it turned out, O&A were talking about that comment about them made by CBS FM that morning. this bit came to be known as the now-legendary "CBS FM bit," one of O&A's funniest bits ever. i was laughing so hard, i was on my hands and knees in my bedroom, tears streaming down my face. that was the day i was infected with "The Virus" and i'm damn proud of it.

I ordered XM in early December 2004 as they announced that MLB was coming to XM. I didn't order O&A as I never listened to them in the past so wasn't going to spend the extra two bucks for it. Well a friend of mine who just bought it a month before me did have it and let me listen to some. But the free play week is what convinced me and now I listen to O&A more than MLB.

I started listening by chance in January05, nearly ended up with Sirius but XM had them beat technologically.. kinda like Apple over Microsoft - something XM might want to keep in mind. Were it not for O&A I'd be with Sirius just for the NFL alone.
The show's not perfect but Anthony is the funniest person I have ever heard on any radio show. I'll be with this one for a long time to come.
