Did any Wackbaggers get to Ozzfest today at PNC (July 26th)? I was there doing EMS, and unfortunately, didn't get to see Lil' Jimmy and his "life partner". My boss rubbed it in when he showed me a pic he got of himself with Norton in the same area I was at before I had to deal with about 20 people having heat exhaustion issues. I did take some pics of the show and will be back at 8:30 AM for the whole day again. So, I will get my pics posted sometime Thursday.

P.S. I did see a few guys in O&A shirts, so if it was you I saw, thanks for not adding to the number of patients I had to deal with.

I was there in my wackbag shirt. Saw and talked to a few wackbaggers. Cool to see the little stickerstop by the entrance where everyone was harassing all the women who passed by, I loved it when they put the wow stickers on this one golfers umbrella.

The show though sucked. Every single band there SUCKED. The only redeeming quality that show had was Maiden. Maiden fucken ruled. They almost made it worth sweating through the heat.

WTF where were you sitting? True most of the new bands were horrid. But Zombie Ruled, Maiden Ruled and Ozzy with Sabbath was amazing. Toni / Geezer and Bill still have there chops.

Sabbath was amazing, Ozzy looked more animated than last summer. I was surprised we didn't see I thought the second stage was much better last year. Maiden, Mudvane, were great. Shadows Fall was one of the highlights for me, they sounded awsome. At one point in the morning I was hanging out with Brian Fair and the Jersey band "Filth." Rob Zombie played some old White Zombie music but the overall sound mix of the band I think sounded off. Killswitch sounded great on the second stage. This was the scene last night while Black Sabbath was on. They kept showing the crowd during the set

I really enjoyed the Sabath show the visuals and the way they did the screens reminded me of the 70's.

I knew that Bill Ward should have worn a shirt.

WTF? some one got sick not suprising with the heat. This was an extra show not schedualed. And he is offering REFUNDS!!!. So if you go to the show today you can still get your money backe (they don't rip up tickets). And I bet Maiden will play an extra long blistering set. So the rest of Ozz Fest is still on, you can get your ticket refunded, an a member of the band has an extra day to recoperate so the tour can go on.

Pleas freaking explain to me how that is lame

I will, gladly.
But, I'll have to add in some info that wasn't mentioned thus far...

I was told by some friends who worked the event, that tickets were still not sold out. Scalpers were practically begging people to buy, at $20 a pop. FRONT ROW SEATS were scalper-selling for $100.

I don't have any info on who might have become sick, but the timing seems way too convenient, considering.

Sidenote.......
Jimmy,
Thanks for autographing my nifty new O&A shirt, and my girl's new O&A thong!
I'll be sure to "dot your i" very soon. :icon_mrgr

I didn't know there was a sticker stop. I was surprised when I saw two girrrrls walk by with WOW stickers on their asses, now I know why.

If you went to the box office for a refund, you left the main gates and therefore, were not allowed back in.

Yesterday's patient count approached 170 in 13 hours. Today's show was a lot less, with only about 8,000 people in attendance. Hence, the reason I am home already. Pics will be posted probably tomorrow.

I had no fucking clue they were going to be at the Jager booth.... Did they mention it at all on the show?.... I saw a couple of you guys with Spread the Virus T-shirts and an assload of people with WOW Stickers on the lawn.

I live 15 miles from the place and when it was the Garden State Arts Center it was one of the best amphitheatres in the country; then some genius decide to add an entire section where the lawn seats used to be, made a huge mountain which is now the 'lawn seats' which is now at an angle that you watch the people go tumbling down, and they banned bringing Anything in, people used to be able bring in their own beach chairs, I think you have to rent theirs now, and they didn;t oversell the lawn to the extent that you're packed in where you used to able to claim at least enough space to sit with your friends in your own chairs on your blanket.

This also resulted in so many additional cars some of you must have had the fun time of entering the PNC Arts Center, seeing open spots right there, then being directed away from the PNC, across the GSParkway, to the southbound side, to lots where, yes, Yellow School Buses are queued up to take you to the show.

Hey, I love walking, but to get to your seats, if you have some good ones, you climb up and up and up, and then down and down and down to your seats. And for a bathroom run, up and up the stairs, up and up, to the men's room, which have, you guessed it, stairs going down to go take a leak.

It was fun when it was the GSAC and I drank. Now most shows there are a nightmare of logistics.

Ahh, one of the few positives to having a bum leg... the good parking.

I guess you could say I had a good spot. I was parked right next to the O&A van. :action-sm

Can you believe, I forgot to wear my O&A tee?
I was sportin' my "Monster Squad NYC" shirt.

OK wait a minute your logic is a little faulty. The tickets going for 20 bucks a pop were lawn seats, a friend of mine got a pair to go the second day. So how is canceling the show and offering refunds lame. It would be lame if no refunds are being offered, they still did the show at a loss (refunded ticket money). The show wasn't compeletly cancelled.

How is scalping related to being lame???. Personally I wouldn't buy a ticket from a scalper because how do you know it is even real?? I don't trust them. They are scum if the tickets are real then they bought bulk buying tickets beforehand, cutting out the fans in order to make a profit. So f-them I hope the scalpers tok a big hit.

Sure I would think shenanigans if there were no refunds offered and the entire show was cancelled. But shit man these guys are old and the weather was harsh, getting sick wouldn't suprise me.

And you're calling my logic fuzzy?
Refunds are always offered with entire cancellations.
You're basically saying you'd never call it to question, since a non-refund isn't even an option.

But anyway...

I did prefice my statement as secondhand info from event staffers.
I trust my sources, but, granted... it's still hearsay.

What I meant is they did offer refunds with only one band cnceling. Which they didn't have to do.

Anyhow my calls suck. I thought the show rocked and my wife did too. If I could of I would have gotten te lawn 20$ tickets and come the seccond day just so see the second stage bands.

i'll tell you how its lame...its pretty known that ozzy can't do 2 days in a row, and a second date should not have been added the day after. the tour should have been routed to alow for a second datre to be added due to a sell out, but put in a day off in between the 2 shows. it's no secret that it gets hot in the summer, tuesday being the ultimate example. i get offering refunds and all that, thats cool, but to a lot of those people, they bought tickets to see black sbaath plus the other bands...to not get sabbath for some is a disappointment, and i think it was a predictible occourance.

with the excetion of maiden, i've seen all those bands a lot. the reason i went to ozzfest was the huge bonus of seeing ozzy with black sabbath. if black sabbath wasn't there, i would not have gone.

Wasn't Sabbath there last year too?

I saw Ozzy a few years ago on the second night and he didnt' cancel so I refute your "it's pretty well known" argument. It was the year with Rob Zombie and Sharon was diagnosed with cancer. And he did a second night. The next year he didn't look as healthy. I can't comment on last year but I heard he was better this year than the last few years.

Could have been Bill Ward that was sick we don't know.

I always thought Ozz fest as more of a gathering of the bands and not a one band show since the bands only play an hour anyhow. I have payed the same amount to see one band do a three hour concert. You get a lot more music for your buck at Ozzfest.

I was at last years Ozzfest, which I enjoyed alot more than this years pile of garbage (Again i re-iterate how much i loved maiden this year) Although last year i lost alot of respect for Ozzy from him turning his war pigs into a "Vote for Kerry" segment, they were awesome musically. Lots of energy and he entertained me alot more.

any check out this review that norton was ranting about?

This guy doesn't really seem like the too cool type, I don't think its that hip to praise iron maiden.

And I kind of agree with him. I absolutly worship both bands, but performance-wise Iron Maiden is on a much higher level live. They're just a more exciting live band, Dickinson is a better live performer. His voice is still unbelievable. Even on a good night Ozzy and Sabbath can't touch Maiden live.

If you think i'm a fucking idiot go ahead and say so, but I kind of agree with this guys review. Sabbath is great but following Maiden is a goddamn tall order, as was following Priest last year.

I don't agree with him one bit. Don't get me wrong I like Maiden but the mix was horrid. Bruces voice is great but where I was sitting he was completely drowned out by the guitars, who BTW at times were not always in synch with eachothe. Don't get me wrong I think Maiden is great but Iaomi was really on and I thought the bad sounded so much better musically than maiden. The only problem I could find was during paranoind, where Geezers bass was really feeding back.

maidens guitars sound off somtimes cus janick gers plays out of time and often out of tune but i really think maiden trumps sabbath live. Unless dio comes back to the fold, which will never happen.

Did you deee the concert at the Garden with Motor Head, Dio and Maiden?? Rockin time.

I like cleaner R&R and Iomi was crystal clear, can't knock his riffs although he isn't as animated as maiden. Not to take anything away from maiden.

ha, that garden show was apalling, Eddie was broken or somthing, he didn't even come out on stage that night good show otherwise. I also caught that tour at pnc which was excellent.
