I believed we have proven out point and as the boys pointed out on-air yesterday....we are victorious.....maybe we should move on....it was a blast while it lasted though.

I have a question here, how does radio delay work exactly? Is it you have a certain number of seconds worth of delay or if a call lags on they run out of delay?

When someone acts up on the radio, they press a button and a fixed amount of seconds gets skipped over. This causes the delay time to decrease. FOR INSTANCE:

I think Philips mentioned he had 15 seconds per dump or something like that. And lets say the Philips Phile is on a 30 second delay. If you call and say something bad, he hits the dump button and jumps 15 seconds into the delay. This causes the show's delay time to change from 30 seconds to 15.

When they run out of dump time, they go to commericials or play song and they catch up.

I think this is correct, if its not, feel free bash me people. i'll deserve it.

To this I reference my earlier comments, please read them (I think page 7 in this thread). The facts are the facts, and the fact remains that he calls his show "real" so that undermines everything about him if you are alluding to the fact that he 'purposely' is going along with this pat battle, or even is egging it on. So if we accept your point, he looks like even more of a liar, considering the premise of "real" radio.

To address ratings, Don and Mike make this same claim: however, if you actully look at the facts: he may be #1 in Orlando, but 1) what is his competition, and 2) how does he rank nationally? I've been listening to the O&A show lately. Sounds like they were very funny during their commercial radio days (I heard them play some clips today). I got the impression they are running low on steam. I mean guys like that crave an enormous audience. I just don't think they have the volume of listeners they once enjoyed. A couple hundred thousand scattered about the nation vs. what they had when they were syndicated in twentysome markets .... that's gotta hurt at some level ... It's great that they were the first ... and EVERYONE knows they were the first to pioneer that trail (satellite radio) ... but I'm afraid things will have to change drastically in the industry before they ever realize the large numbers of listeners they once enjoyed ... balls or not, Jim Philips gave them a good show, I think. It made for great radio for everyone while it lasted. Jim Philips has a license to protect and advertisers to sell for .. he had to do something to put the brakes on this thing, but I think you should agree he gave the pests a good time by giving them a good fight.
It's obvious you didn't listen when they were first on in N.Y.. Most people told them to shut up and play the music, it took a few years to build their fans. They have been on a "pay" service less than a year, talk to me in 5 years about them having fans.

Also the show was on at 3pm, lots of drinking and trips to club stinky, thats why it was so up beat

according to Philips, O&A couldn't be successful on terrestrial radio, so they ran to XM. pot calling kettle black, anyone? O&A were syndicated in over 20 markets and #1 in many of them, including the major markets of New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Washington D.C., and Buffalo. Philips' only success has been in Orlando, and he should thank God for that because he's never going to experience success anywhere else. the ONLY chance Philips has of getting his name out there to a wider audience is through satellite radio.

and yes, O&A got pulled off the air for the Sex 4 Sam thing, but how many jocks will PUT THEIR JOBS ON THE LINE to entertain their listeners? Philips will continue to play it safe and never get out of Orlando, while O&A have taken risks, been successful in terrestrial radio (far beyond Philips' achievements, by the way) and are now one of the most listened-to (if not THE most listened-to) show on XM, despite whatever Jim Philips claims.

O&A have command over an entire station on XM. Philips' show gets pre-empted. see the difference?

see, that is a total misconception. you have our motives all wrong. we're not out to make all radio shows just like O&A. we're trying to emphasize the need for truth in radio. there are plenty of other shows we enjoy that aren't like O&A, but we enjoy them because they do not lie to their audience.

His show last Friday was all about screwing with the army of pests, and from what I read over the weekend, there were several among the rank that were absolute whores for it ... even Opie and Anthony had to calm the nerves of some of the pests by mentioning some of the posts that lawyer O&A fans had posted over the weekend ... I am wondering, however, why Opie and Anthony are no longer giving out the phone numbers. In fact I distinctly remember hearing one of the pests call in on Tuesday saying "I wish you would let me give out the phone numbers ..." .... And then Opie and Anthony said they would officially throw Philips back into the 'Lake of Obscurity' ...hmmm Philips hasn't mentioned a thing about this since last Friday ....
