Just *finally* got a DVD burner and it came bundled with Ulead Movie Factory. The program is good but has given me problems converting files for burning, in less than 3 weeks of having it. I also have Nero and DVDShrink but those do not convert media files for burning so those are ruled out. I'm looking for a solid dependable DVD authoring/burning program, so anybody with any suggestions or helpful advice?

I use DVDshrink to rip DVD and roxio to burn them. It works for me.....uhhh I suck I got nothing:)

What are you trying to convert? Nero Recode converts files. I have converted .AVIs and mpegs to DVD format no problem with Nero.

After searching the net, I just realized that I have an older version of Nero that burns Images and/or VOB files but does not create DVD's from video files (mpeg, avi, wmv, ect). I'm looking to convert, create menus and join video files. WHich Nero program should I be "looking" for? :icon_twis

The only problem with dvdSanta's free trial is an annoying "Demo Version" message appear at the beginning of the DVD. It doesn't last long though. The full version is $30.

i've used sonic mydvd plus to compile vids to dvds.

Nerovision express(Part of Nero Digital). Not free *cough* *cough* but can be. It's what I use and have had very few problems with.

Wow, after *cough,cough* sampling Nero Vision looks like we have a winner. Thanks guys. Also got...umm,tried...yeah tried a program called DivxtoDVD, pretty damn good except you can not create interactive menus but creat chapters at set minute intervals. A very simple, good bare bones program. Thanks again
