I know there are a lot of Phish fans here. I was wondering if anyone is going to see Trey this summer. I’m seeing Trey and Gov’t Mule tomorrow night at Jones Beach. First time I’m seeing Trey without Phish. Anyone have any comments about Trey’s show without Phish?

I've heard mixed reactions.....I say don't go with expectations, and you won't be disappointed...how was it???

I saw Dave Matthews Band last week and Trey came out for a song and fuckin blew the house down. Though, I haven't seen Trey outside of Phish the dude can definitely put on a show.

The show was cool Gov't Mule was awesome (fist time I saw them). Trey did a lot of Phish tunes mostly Farmhouse. He played Gotta Jibboo, The Inlaw Josie Wales, Back On the Train, 46 Days, and covered Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel at one point Trey gave the band a set break, but stayed and played the acoustic guitar with Warren Haynes. It was worth checking out I would recommend seeing the show.

I've seen all 4 guys with their respective "side" or "solo" projects. Trey's 2nd solo go round, with the horn section, was my favorite of his stuff. I saw Trey with the 70 Volt Parade at the beginning of this summer in Richmond, prior to Bonaroo, and was greatly disappointed. I've posted about this before but to sum it up it was very sloppy. Granted it was only 3 days into the band being together but, I dunno, I have high expectations anytime I see any memeber from Phish (maybe I shouldn't). Needless to say, I think I'm waiting on seeing Trey again.

However, Trey and Govt Mule is a nice bill!

Headed to Gathering of the Vibes need week. Anyone going?!?!?!?

Oh yes, can't wait to hear Seapods. I hope they'll play Blackberry Brandy. Late night sets by John Brown's Body one night and The New Deal the next night. Are you kidding me!?!?! It's gonna be sick.

Just ordered my Mike Gordon and Leo Kottke tickets for Philadelphia!!! Can't wait!

Got back from the Vibes late last night. Oh man, AMAZING from start to finish. I'd give a more in depth review but don't know if there is any interest out there. If so, let me know.....

Well, pulled in a little after 9 am to find out that there were lines. I'm not talking about continuous moving lines, I'm talking waiting to get into Coventry lines!!! OK, not that many people but you get the idea. The problem was that the "security" that was checking the cars was going about it all wrong. At one point I saw 5 guys checking a small honda while thousands of other cars sat waiting. I heard that many people that were in line friday morning didn't make it in until well into the night. That sucks. I got lucky.

Music wise, it was great. Highlights for me were Assembly of Dust, Jazz Mandolin, Keller Williams, Seapods, and The "mother fucking" New Deal!! Man, everytime I see them, they get better and better. TND was the late night set from about 1 till a little after 3. Nobody left. I couldn't believe how packed it was. Ratdog was good but unfortunately there was a ridiculous storm right about when West L.A. started. That ruined the late night set on friday, John Brown's Body. They still played but not many were there for it. Dark Star led the way for the Garcia tribute on saturday night. The tribute lasted 5 hours! Keller, Reid Genauer, and Nate Wilson joined for Eyes of the World, Scarlet Begonias, Franklin's Tower and something else but I don't remember.

Oh, I was very impressed by the Ryan Montbleau Band. Guy sounds like Stevie Wonder and has a good set up with some horns guiding the funk. And of course it was great to see Deep Banana Blackout together once again. Jen Durkin sounded fantastic, as usual.
