"Gas theft is a problem that costs the industry millions and may have even cost one gas station owner his life. In Alabama, a service station owner was killed last week trying to stop a driver police believe wasn't going to pay a $52 tab. The owner was run over in the incident. And industry experts expect the problem to get worse as gas prices continue to rise.

You know you've always wanted to fill the tank and haul ass without paying. Too bad NJ law dictates gas attendant must pump gas and now uses an authorization card in order for the pump to start. Are gas prices REALLY the problem though? I know the rabbit hole goes deep in respect to the trickle-down and long-term effects, but c'mon...... Are gas prices REALLY what we should be concerned about?
here in Ny, you have to pay before you pump. When i first went up to New Hampshire I went to pre-pay and the attendant had no idea what the fuck i was doing, and told me they worked on honesty. It was the weirdest thing I ever seen.

No schwoogies in NH. The higher the percentage of darkies, the more "pay before you pump" stations there will be.

Well, sure. Venezuela has more oil than water. However, that pesky kidnapping and murder thing that is very prevalent down there would keep me from going.

I can't believe that article says that up to 75% of the cost of gasoline can be just government taxes. WTF? I wonder how much ours is taxed on the US?
Also, my grandmother told me she saw something on TV about a gas station owner who actually closed his station down and is selling it because he got sick of being screamed and cursed at by customers angry over gas prices. Truth is that most gas stations only make a few cents a gallon, so the prices increases aren't their fault.

I would gladly pay $4.00 a Gallon, if it would get 75% of these JERSEY drivers off the road, so I would'nt be stuck in traffic.

You can thank the LEFT for that, and only the left. They placed so many damn taxes on gasoline during Clinton's years, but the cost was so cheap that nobody took notice. Even back then, out of the $1.00 we were paying, 40 cents of that was taxes. The left has only tacked on more and more taxes throughout the years. This is NOT rant about me hating the left, this is FACT. The left hates gasoline and wants to save the environment, and they can't outlaw SUV's so they are attempting to make gos so expensive that nobody can afford the SUV's anymore.
This is not to say that the oil companies are innocent. Every week I read in the Wall Street Journal that oil companies are reporting record profits. Well.... NO SHIT!!! They are charging $60 a barrel for the same shit that they were selling for $40 last year. It's criminal, and I can't believe our government can do nothing about it.
Yes, the gas station owners are barely seeing any increased profits as a result of the gas prices. They are paying out the ass just to have the stuff delivered to their stations. As usual, the little guy works his ass off and gets squeezed, while the corporate people sit back and rake in the dough.

It's about $3.08 in Hawaii soon to have a cap, I have seen $2.87 here for regular.
I remember a couple years back, like 2003, when the gas first started to go up and regular was at about 1.60 here in queens, the daily show (back before it started getting annoying to watch) found a gas station owner, who Getty Gas had shut down, cuz he was selling gas under cost and making up the profit loss on the volume of sales from the stupid shit he was selling inside the station. It was pretty interesting to see that the oil companies dont want anyone saving any money on gas at all.

Hell, last year we were in Maui and the price was anywhere from $2.50-$2.75. It's outrageous. Of course, they also charge $5.00 for a gallon of milk too. I dunno how anybody can live there.

Hell no they don't! The oil comes from terrorist countries (I include Venezuela in that list because of Hugo Chavez) that take the money and fund terrorist camps and operations with it. Plus, we have the stupid royalty over there with palaces made of gold and brothels and all that shit. They sell the oil to the oil companies, they refine it (which they say is where all the cost comes from), and then pass it on to the poor gas station owner who is just trying to make an honest living.
I can't believe Americans, and the rest of the world for that matter, haven't stood up and said "enough is enough". The towel heads are just randomly setting the price of oil, and we are all getting fucked at the pump as a result.
Not to sound like a crazy liberal or anything, but maybe these high prices will finally bring about the change in fuel soucres for cars that will end our dependence or terrorists, criminals, and thugs. I welcome they day that we have battery-powered cars that work just as well as gasoline, cuz then those awful countries will be useless piles of rock and sand with a bunch of black goo that nobody wants. Fuck 'em all.

You betcha. I think we maybe have 2 out of the 10,000 or so people that live in my town. It gets a little darker, though, as you make your way into Manchester.

Yeah, plus the prices are a lot cheaper because the state liquor stores are the only places that can sell the hard stuff.

A truly racist friend of mine, when heading north from Mass. through the New Hampshire tolls, makes it a point to yell " Goodbye, last n****r!" .

I'm seriously considering buying a locking gas cap.
It's not gonna be long before siphoning gas from other people's cars makes a comeback.

I work at a shell station we use to average one or two drive offs a month if that. Mostly high school kids from the school up the hill. But lately we have had as many as two or three a day. They wait till a larger truck uses the pumps closer to the window then the use the far pump and lay it down on the ground and beat feet. it's getting bad, hell I work there an have thought of doing it too! These prices suck ! $2.91 here in VA
