**See This Page With Full Graphics, Pictures and Color!** CLICK HERE --> : Philadelphia Parking Violation Question - Orange TOW Sticker
I live in NYC and I was in Philly for a day and I parked my car around 3:30pm but didn't notice it said no parking from 4-6:30pm, so I come back to the car around 5, and I got a ticket and an orange sticker with "Tow" written on it and it also said that my car needs to be towed. My question is, if I got there in time and took that sticker off before they towed my car, does that mean I'm off the hook and just have to pay the parking ticket, or is my car like gonna be chased down by some Tow company and impounded?
(I read on some site that the people who put the orange "tow" stickers actually also put some transmitter on the bottom of your car which lets Tow dudes know which cars need to be towed)
Anyone know anyhting about this?

any parking violations in philly=a trip through hell. Although they wont 'hunt' down your car considering you moved out of the spot, so you took care of the 'towing' yourself, so-to-speak.

You got lucky. Basically, they tagged your car so that when the next city towtruck driver would know to grab it next time he rolled down that street. Fortunately for you, you got back before that happened.
Actually, someone could have alot of fun if they got a hold of some of those stickers or even a reasonable facsimilie...

You live in NYC, got a ticket in Philly. You're got off totally free dude. Fuck those Philly tickets, don't pay it, and never think of it again. The NYPD has better things to do than track down some guy who got a parking ticket in Philly.

Do you REALLY believe all that crap? Sounds like the same kind of "we never went to the moon" or "Oswald wasn't alone" shit that people acutally believe.

That happened to me in DC; the ticket was a fine AND a tow. I drove away before a tow, paid the ticket, and that was the end of it. Sounds like you got off even easier.

waaay off topic, but yeah, I do believe it; there is a lot of evidence that is both physical and anecdotal which points to the strong possibility of a murder and not a suicide. The physical evidence is in lack of finger prints, different handwritings, Cobain's drug bloodlevel (the morphene analogy doesn't work because those are pills which take time), film from the scene which has never been developed and the Seattle PD refuses to develop them, and other stuff that I forget at the moment. The anecdotal evidence is testimony given by a now-dead person saying that he was offered cash to kill Cobain (this person took a lie detector test and passed with 99% accuracy), time inconsistencies, record showing that there were several attempts to use Cobain's credit card after he was already dead (this was never explained), the medical examiner being friends with Courtney Love, and other things which are all talked about in a few books and websites.

Until you get pulled over for something stupid, and you find out your licensce is suspended, or there's a warrant out for you. Then they might search your car, and find a 5yr old roach, or a stray empty beer under the seat...

Last time I checked, PA, NJ and NY all share information about traffic offenses with each other. Getting a ticket in Philly and not paying it could possibly lead to a suspended license in NY or NJ. I would just pay it and be glad you don't have to go appear in court and didn't have to pay for the two and impound fees. Whatever you do, don't just throw it away and forget about it. It will most likely come back to fuck you if you do. That's my $0.02

I agree. Pay the fine and consider yourself lucky to get away with
just paying that bill.

It's amazing what you can do just by deleting some words. Now... that is what I would get into trouble for.

Ever think that maybe these people are inventing this "information" to sell books and attract website viewers? It takes a TON of coordination to pull off something like that, especially when people start saying there was this big conspiracy involving the PD, medical examiner, forensics people, etc. It would just take too many people and be way too hard to get all those people to be quiet about it. Besides, why would anybody other than Courtney want him dead? Anyway.. like you said, way off topic.

The thing is that there are like maybe 2 people who know what happened and none of them are in the PD or the medical examiner or anyone like that. All those people do believe it is a suicide, but the judgment was rushed because he was a junkie and a rockstar. But when some of this stuff came out, noone wanted to cooperate or talk about it because it makes them seem crazy and it's a hassle and it'll be "hey the Seattle PD thinks a junkie rockstar didn't kill himself". The only person to ever publicly say that Courtney love offered him money to kill Cobain wound up dead due to a train running over him a week after he said so in an interview for a British documentary. So people do talk, the only problem is that they either wind up dead, or get payed off (as in the case of this other dude who hinted at the fact that he was involved in Cobain's death). I won't try to prove anything because it'll just get frustrating, so I'll just say before going "it's a conspiracy and it makes no sense" please just ready what is being said. And as in all this being done to sell books, Tom Grant the private investigator (hired by Courtney to find Kurt after Kurt was missing, who then decided the his death was not a suicide) has been investigating this thing for as long as Kurt has been dead and he started investigating the case without going to the media saying "hey look at what I'm doing".

please just read what is being said
I did. I read the site cuz I was interested to see what it was about. To me it just seemed like some guy who didn't agree with the official cause of death, and has made it his mission to prove it wasn't suicide. He has a ton of "documents" and a bunch of circumstantial evidence that he is stating as fact. I equate it to the people that are convinced that we didn't land on the moon and have all this evidence and testimony that it really didn't happen, yet it's all circumstantial, and for the most part, silly.
That being said... I will admit that nobody knew who the hell Courtney Love was until Kurt died. She was "Kurt Cobain's wife" up until that point. Her stupid ass band, Hole, probably sold 1000 times more albums because of Kurt's death than they would have if he was still around. So, sure.. I think she definitely had a motive to kill him. She wanted to be famous, and that was a great way to achieve it.
Anyway, I have my opinions and you have yours. Neither of us will ever change the other's mind. Until somebody (other than Grant) comes out and says that he was murdered, I have to put my faith in the people who ruled it a suicide.
Isn't it amazing how these stupid threads always seem to steer way off course because of some shit like this?

:icon_mrgr Works for me. The truth will come out one day in the future, it'll just take time. Courtney's own father believes she played a part in his death, as does Courtney and Kurt's former lawyer. I just hope the case is re-opened and goes to court, because if it is, Grant will release other evidence which he says he will only release in a court room.

Last time I checked, PA, NJ and NY all share information about traffic offenses with each other.
I don't think that's entirely true except for alcohol related tickets. I've gotten two tickets in NJ and have never had it cost me points on my license and my insurance has never gone up.
from the DMV's website....
If I get a ticket for a moving violation in another state, do I receive points on my NYS driver license?
The NYSDMV does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions. The exceptions are alcohol-related violations, drug-related violations, and moving violations committed in Quebec or Ontario. Under special agreements, traffic convictions in Quebec or Ontario are recorded on NYS driver license records and carry points. Except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations.
If you do not respond to a ticket or fail to pay a fine for a moving violation that you committed in any state except Alaska, California, Michigan, Montana, Oregon or Wisconsin, the DMV suspends your NYS driver license until you respond to the ticket or pay the fine. If a driver from a state except these six states fails to respond to a traffic ticket issued in NYS, their driver license will be suspended until the driver responds to the traffic ticket in NYS.
Drivers from other states must contact the DMV in their home state to get information about the effect of a traffic violation conviction that occurs in NYS.
If you receive a conviction for an alcohol-related or drug-related driving violation in any state, your NYS driver license is revoked for at least six months.
