Anybody out there know a DirecTV installer that works in Norf Jersey? I need a professional guy (Condo Assoc. BS), but I also need someone who is "cool" :action-sm

DirecTV installers are subcontracted and don't actually work for the company. So I'm sure whoever you get will be "cool" for a couple of 20's. Good luck getting what you need...

Is your association requiring that the installer work for a licensed/bonded installation company? I don't now, but I worked for an installation company for a year, and did over 200 installs. I never did wall fishing though, that was another guy's specialty. I do the basic installs with exposed coax. What's the assoc. requiring?
Is this a house, townhouse, or condo? If it's a townhouse/condo, which way does your balcony face? You need to have a clear shot southwest with no trees/buildings/etc in the way.
unfortunately directv has made it very difficult to be 'cool' in that sense. I used to bring a laptop with me and hack the cards for people if they asked (a whole lot did!), for like $100 (or more, of course if they offered!). Thing is, the 'full activations' wouldn't last long, maybe 2-3 months if they were lucky. Unfortunately, now there is no publicly available hack for the new cards, either because it hasn't been done yet, or it has and those geniuses with the knowledge to do so have nailed a tight goddamn lid on it. (I've also been out of the hacking loop for about a year, since I switched to iO)

I think the windows face east.

Check out the news section on cnet.com and look up directv. It's give you the news about how they're cracking down on hacks, but at the same time, it'll let you know what kind of hacks are going on.
At the very least, you can pull a stunt like I did. I messed up the day of the install appointment and realized it when I was on hold calling to complain. Rather than sound like an idiot when DirecTV picked up, I said they didn't show up and wanted to know what was going on. They said they were sorry to confuse the day of the appointment and gave me 6 months of the hbo package for free. I didn't even have to ask. Their customer service rocks like that.

That complex (AFAIK) doesn't allow dishes on the roof. If he has a window that faces SW, it can be mounted on the windowsill no problem. But I'm pretty sure a licensed installer has to do it.

They actually have dishes on the roof now.
I just did a search for the condo assoc. and found a chick on "Strippers Online" who is looking for a roomate in the same complex.
