Yeah, Halford had a pretty big death metal career. Right? All that death metal he did? He and Iron Maiden were into death metal, Queen was thrash metal, and Deicide is 80's power ballads. I believe Wham! was all about progressive speed metal, but I can't decide if it was Wham! or just George Michael's solo stuff.

deathmetal is a term used to describe bands like Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. Black Metal is some pseudo goth shit filled with people that aren't hardcore enough to actually be called death metal. also, ask any deathmetal fan, and they will tell you, deathmetal is all about killing, murder, and zombies and shit, black metal is all anti-Christ, and hate filled.

Mayhems guitarist, "Eurononymous", was stabbed to death by "Count Grishnack", from Burzum, who's still in prison in Norway.
their second lead singer, "Dead", blew his brains out. Afterwich the rest of the band made neclaces and stew out of some of his brain and skull.
Early Norweigian black metal was insane....all church burning, murder, and grave desecration. Now it's costumes and weaponry from that knife store in the mall.
I can't recommend enough reading "Lords Of Chaos", it's fucking brutal and an excellent recount of the early bm scene in Norway

black metal is so hilarious to me. Its like equally cheesy to power metal (which i enjoy) but it takes itself so seriously. And its always classic when band members and fans in scandanavia commit muder, burn down churches or cannablize each other. So much for only being music...

I used to like the black metal band Burzum. His ideology is completley fucked though. Black and death got to depressing for me, so I quit listening to it. Been great ever since :)

The humor in this is that this thread was to tool on the pics, but instead most of the posts got serious into what was black and death metal.
