So I figured since everyone's adding new things, I want to be the roving reporter and attempt to contribute headlines of the day in different aspects of the news.

Powell's Demands Fended Off by Arafat -- Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat stated that Israel must pull out its troops from the West Bank before he would consider Colin Powell's demand that Arafat end the violence. After that, Powell went to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for a complete pullback. Meanwhile, Sharon is calling for an international peace summitt for Israel and the Arab nations, to be led by the United States, but not to let Arafat attend.
Venezuelan President Reinstated -- Hugo Chavez returned to the presidency in Venezuela after a government set-up of following Friday's military coup fell through in the face of a rebellion of loyal troops and protests en masse. Chavez was being held under military arrest by the top brass who had ousted him as leader. Venezuela is also the world's 4th largest oil exporting nation. Meanwhile in Caracas, there have been riots and looting because of the problems with the government

Grandson to Recreate Lindbergh's Flight -- Erik Lindbergh, the gradnson of Charles Lindbergh, took off today from San Diego in the New Spirit of St. Louis. He wants to recreate his grandfather's solo trans-Atlantic flight that was completed in 1927 in honor of the 75th anniversary. Lindbergh plans to fly to St. Louis and then to Farmingdale, NY, and on May 1, to begin the trans-Atlantic crossing.

Hospitals Now Embracing Alternative Medicine -- In an attempt to seek paying patients and add to competition, various hopsitals are now using alternative method to lure more patients. Alternative medicine includes meditation, accupuncture, and various spa treatments.

Tiger Woods won his third green jacket at The Masters
Ray Allen of the Miluakee Bucks scored a career high 47 points today in the game against the Charlotte Hornets, in which the Bucks won 98-91, making the Bucks a few steps closer to clinching a berth in the 2002 NBA playoffs.
It was the end of the NHL regular season today with quite a few surprises in the Western and Eastern conference. Phoenix Coyotes rallied today after being 2 points behind 4-2 at the end of second period against Nashville Predators. They rallied in the 3rd period scoring 4 goals to beat Nashville 6-4.
In baseball, the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 1-0. Mike Mussina of the Yankees fell short of pitching a perfect game just like he did last summer.
