Does anyone know much about this airline these days? I am looking at flying into Seattle over Thanksgiving on AA and was worried they are a piece of shit airline company. Do they have new planes or 2nd generation? Are they regulated by the FAA??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've flown them many times, never had a problem. of course they're faa regulated. as to brand-spaking new aircraft, I can't say, although every plane I've flown on has been lacking in duct tape and bailing wire.

Alaska Airlines is fine. I've flown all over the West Coast with them.

Just flew them last month from here in Vegas to Seattle, then to Spokane. They were fine, from Vegas to Seattle it was a 737, then Seattle to Spokane was a little prop plane (Horizan Air owned by Alaska).

All in all there was no problems except a weather delay.
