PS - please (if you can) leave links to some apps that strip MP3's of protection. I think you only get to keep the songs for the weekend or something, but I have heard bit and peices of info about apps that couter that type of thing.

I don't want the music just for the weekend.. I want it forever. Hah. Do you know that after the weekend we can't have it anymore or is that just what you think?

I don't see how they could create mp3's with timers which erase them after the weekend, without loading up some nasty .exe's onto your computer. Probably the bitrates will suck.

Where do you go for free music? I used to have Kazaa or whatever it is on my old computer and it gave me a lot of viruses. So after re-doing my hard drive so many times.. on my new computer I don't download any music. I have I-Tunes for my I-Pod. But, all my music on that is from my cd's. I have been trying for a long time to find out about a free music website that also is safe from viruses and all that shit.

There really isn't one. You take that risk everytime you download from some random person's machine.

Something i read said the best thing to do for free music without viruses is start sharing music with friends. Make CDs filled with MP3s of your favorite bands. Pass 'em out to your friends and have them do the same. Eventually you and your circle of friends will have an endless suppply of music. In theory this will only work if you all share music outside of each other...sort of like a pyramid scheme.

Also, in regard to the napster thing, if the file craps out after labor day, whats to stop you from burning it to an Audio CD this weekend, then ripping it from the audio CD after the weekend?

True.. But I don't have a burner. What do you think would happen if I put it on my I-Pod? Would it stop working after the weekend was over?
