In High School - my sister went as a q-tip / tampon.

she wore all white - painted her face white, and put a wig made of cotton-balls on her head.

I have my Ren. Fair costume (a busty maiden/beer wench), but I don't want to wear that anymore.

I wanted to go as the EverQuest girl, but that was back when I was planning for the Halloween before The Boys got fired. When they didn't have a Halloween party, I canned the idea:

I dressed as an indian gas attendant one year, Blue chiffon turbin, big broach/ pink polyester pants(floods) blue vinyl sandles. and a blue short sleeve shirt with a Habib name tag.. I was a huge hit at the party. but funnest part of the night was getting gas on the way.

i, being the Halloween psycho i am, would turn the front porch of my house into a mini-haunted house. the creepy music, smoke machine, strobe light, fake coffin, fake cobwebs, the whole schtick. pretty soon, kids were afraid to come to my house. too bad for them, cuz i always rewarded the brave kids with the full-sized Snickers bars. :icon_mrgr

but nowadays, i usually stick to three costumes: Neo from The Matrix (i had the coat tailored-made with Gabardine wool, cost me $300), Michael Myers from Halloween (it scares the crap out of people when i walk by, but it gets so freakin' hot under that mask and people mistake me for Jason Voorhees), and The Crow (which people normally mistake me for the WCW wrestler Sting). i plan on doing The Crow again this year, but i'm getting the professional-grade facepaint so it doesn't come off so easily and smudge onto my $300 Neo coat instead of the shitty Party City paint that cracks and rubs off onto everything.

maybe you could do a sexy female version of The Crow. just wear some tattered black clothes, and pick up white face paint and black lipstick. and you can be as creative and imaginative as you want with all the details.

Dead Fred Durst (a fantasy)
the Pope
Eddie Munster (that year 5 of us dressed as the munsters and drove to the party in my friend's 1962 hearse)

Back when it was in the news, a friend of mine went as Abner Louima. Basically just had a sweatshirt that said Abner, blackface, and a plunger attached to the back of his pants. Great shit.

No, it's Mike. Last year we took a guy I work with and his girlfriend to the prom in it. I set up a picnic in the back of it and Mike and I dressed in black suits and hats and did our thing. It was fun since it was Port Washington High School and all the rich little fuckers had their stretch hummers and escalades, etc. They had a red carpet with a huge screen for the kids as they got out - craziest thing I've ever seen for a prom.

I think originally, yeah. All hallows eve was when the dead could walk among us. So we tried to make them feel at home. Is that what you mean?
