A reminder for everyone that the new season of Nip/Tuck starts next week (September 20) in the place of Rescue Me.

I just watched season 2 all the way through on DVD and am "absolutly crying over here" in anticipation for the new season. Mods can fill free to sticky this one for the upcoming season.

Any early guesses on who the Carver will be? Ryan Murphy, the writer, has stated in an interview that IS someone that you have seen play a role in the show and not some random neighbor you saw way back when. Unfortunatly we have to wait for the final scene of the final episode of the season to know for sure.

My early predicition will be that the Carver is... Kimber. Not sure why but the knife scene with Christion before might elude to it.

I'm anticipating this season so fucking much. It's been on hiatus for almost a year, which is way too long, but hopefully it'll be worth it!

This is definitely my favorite show on TV, with only 2 others coming close (and both are on FX.)

As for my guess who the carver is, I've been thinking Jude for a while. Hopefully it is revealed within the first few episodes.

That is the obvious choice, so it's doubtful. By the way he lost his license when he killed that dog during a hair transplant surgery. Then started operating underground and I think Christian made him leave town.

Possible reasons why:

1. Carver disquises voice. If it was a woman's voice you'd automatically know the suspect is a woman.

2. Carver uses a drug to render victims helpless. If it was a woman this would aid in keeping the victim from fighting back, because most men would be able to overpower a woman.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT the detective. At the end of last season Ryan Murphy confirmed that the Carver is someone that we have already been introduced to. And she was not in any previous seasons.

ITR is correct. Ryan Murphy said that it was a major character in the series meaning that they have been around and was not a stupid barely known neighbor or something. They are a character that has developed a bit. But the carver being a woman is very possible in my opinion and the butt **** would be to draw attention from women.

I looked away during a few surgeries in the first two seasons, because my stomach just can't handle it. This episode was the first time I looked away and pressed mute. That was pretty disturbing because being awake during surgery is probably one of my biggest fears.

If it's Quentin I'll just be so damned disappointed. I love a season-long mystery though, it's very cool. I'm kinda thinking the Liz thing isn't totally out of the question- she's been having faith issues, despises the cosmetic surgery industry, and could well use a strap-on to slam it to a pig doctor like Christian. Then again, she's very level-headed and I don't think it's too likely. I do think the likelihood of it being a woman is pretty good.

I feel the season's been a bit weak so far- the first two seasons were stellar, with the exception of Joan Rivers and her awful jokes that the doctors kept laughing at. Last night's episode wasn't terrific. A stand-alone episode in the middle of a huge expanse of plot threads that we need updates on... man that was frustrating.

There's no way they can get away with just simply selling sperm (woo-hoo alliteration!) in large quantities on TV. This needs to come bite them in the ass. I am not sure if anything is changed but at the start of this season not even the cast knew who the Carver was and no one in the cast was acting as the Carver either. I thought the season ender was great and I can see the Carver being back in the scene next year or at least rumors of A Carver roaming free. I was with everyone else it seems in thinking that Quentin was just too damn obvious, but low and behold, it was him. When Kit was telling his story, I figured she was in on it too.

I didn't want to read the last few pages until I watched the whole episode, I got in late tonight and had to wait for the airing to end to start watching.

I just caught the last episode off my DVR and I'm pissed. I was really hoping the Carver was Ava, that would have been great, but having Quentin was just lame, and the guy playing Quentin cannot act crazy to save his life. I didn't believe him for a second. (He was almost cast to play Christian, thank God they picked Julian McMahon instead)

Entertainment? Never heard of it. I think the show is great and watch it regularly hence posting in this thread.

They requested that he come up. It was near the end of season 2, I think. He helped them with a case or two and then eventually became the 3rd doctor in the practice.

I found it interesting that they downplayed that fact in season 3.

Thats what I thought. Its one of those 'a little too co-incidental' moments in a show. What are the odds that they would bring the guy responsable for all of it to them? It was like in the OC when Ryan was dating the girl who turned out to be Calebs daughter.
This show is too much at times. Towards the end, I found myself just watching the episodes so I can find out who the carver was.

Partially right, Sean didn't start doing the witness protection program thing until mid-season 3. Costa was first introduced in season 2 and became a partner at the beginning of season 3.

It is one of those moments with the show. I suspect that the writers had the idea for The Carver and ran with it. At the same time they brought in Costa who was, at that time, not related to The Carver. Eventually they had to tell us who The Carver was so they started to write Costa as the Carver into the plot.

Honestly, I didn't like the way the end of The Carver story arc played out at all. The sister thing was yet another one of those moments. Plus, they both got away. I would have much rather had it been a lesser cast member that was killed, etc... All they are doing now is leading up to a Carver return in the next season or so.

As for Matt, I really, really like that Character, even if he looks like a fag/Michael Jackson. Probably the best written out of the bunch, IMO. He really didn't have much of a part in the 2nd half of season 3 so hopefully Season 4 will focus on him, the tranny, and the murder.

Matts got to be the most amazing criminal of our time. He mows some girl down in his car and gets away with it. Then hes part of some wacky murder plot in the middle of the woods and noone mentions it. You have to figure a few days went by before they were all together having dinner and noone is wondering where this father is?
Also that little thing with the crazy nazi father was just absured. That might have been the most over the top part of this other that didnt involve Famke Jannsen.

The Matt thing is one of the major problems I have with Nip/Tuck (and Desperate Housewives). Major events will happen on one episode and in the next expisode there is no mention of them. The characters act "normal" until a later episode when, suddenly, they bring up the past again.
