I'm not big on In Flames or Shadow's Fall, but I've seen them a few times, theyre not bad, but I didnt dig them much. Alot of that Euro Metal sounds alot alike and Shadow's Fall just always seemed kinda generic to me. Soilwork and Arch Enemy are the two Euro bands I dig the most. I also like God Forbid, they're real talented but still pretty nameless (as far as I know) alot of the hardcore bands I used to listen to and go see in little shithole clubs either got popular and/or became pussies like Hatebreed and Throwdown. I dont really listen to many of my hardcore/metal CDs anymore, even though I have like 3000 of them, I pretty much stick to Megadeth,Slayer and Pantera nowadays but I'm still down with Candiria and For the Love Of...if you dont know FtLO you should check them out, they're not easy to find, their first album was on Roadrunner records, I forget the title of it cause I'm too lazy to go out to my car and look, but they're badass.

Throwdown sucks hard now. Hatebreed was one of the first bands I got into because the guy who got me into hardcore was friends was Jamey and I used to get wasted with him back in the day, but I think their albums have gotten worse and worse, Under the Knife was great and so was Satistfaction... but Perserverance and their newest album seem kinda lacking, they still put on a hell of a show. I havent heard God Forbid in a while and they definitly do get boring after a while, that's why I like Candiria, there's so much variety in their music. I'm not real big into the scene anymore either, it's become really pussified and full of faggot ass emo kids. When I first started going to shows I was like 13 and all the old guys were all about spreading the scene to the young kids and preaching unity and all that good shit, now it's a bunch of trendy jizzmops.

Most anyone into metal has heard of In Flames, and Shadows Fall. I really like all of the In Flames albums up to Clay Man, but anything after that I can't get into. Shadows Fall is pretty good, but I got bored with them pretty easy.
The metal scene is pretty watered down anymore. The new Nevermore, and Novembers Doom is pretty good though.
/still love my death metal, and thrash.

I don't like when o and a rag on smaller bands cause they sound a tad ignorant and XM should be a platform that promotes smallertalented bands that don't have the corporate push but have fans due to talent.
i really like shadows fall and shouldn't have to defend them in this thread but selling over 200k of their latest cd without a hit of radio help is impressive. their drummer jason bittner is considered the best dummer in heavy metal by a lot of people. band is seriously talented and lots of publications like to peg them as the next metallica. i think that's a bit of a stretch but they are really on their way up...supposively they are signing to a major soon so who knows, anything is possible.

Yeah, but we were talking more about hardcore then metal, there's a big difference, as you probably know. These emo fags have taken over most clubs that used to have good hardcore shows or invade the bill of said shows. All the metal shows I've been to lately are emo-free because the old school metalheads guys (who for the most part do look like the pic Liz posted) would beat their fuckin heads in.

I saw In Flames and Shadows Fall when they came through northern california last month and even though I got there as The Haunted was wrapping up their set, the show was still pretty tight. Black Dahlia Murder came on before In Flames and unlike the Cannibal Corpse/Black Funeral/Incantation and Pissing Razors concert that was here in 2003 there weren't any fights or people having seizures like at that concert. Friend of mine played some Pissed on at Birth for me and the growling and the etheral music sounded good even though I couldn't make out a word of what they were saying.
