I know, big faggola. Never even read the books. But I saw the preview for this flick when I went to see Serenity and God damn do the effects look good. I know the budget must be huge but the dragon.....I may have to check this out. You can definately see the story line "growing up." This one looks pretty damn dark.
It must also be noted that Hermione (Emma Watson) continues to do that lovely growing up thing.:icon_mrgr
I shall now go talk baseball and look at porn.

I do read the books, but not a fanatic per sey. I haven't read the latest one and don't even remember the name and I didn't really give a shit when I heard Snape killed Dumbledore but the Goblet of Fire was a pretty fucking awesome book as far as Harry Potter shit goes. Been looking forward to the movie.

Never read the books but was very suprised by the movies. My dad and aunt got me to watch them and while they are kid oriented, they did have great special effects and the story wasn't bad.

Keep telling yourself you aren't a fanatic. I haven't read any of them but I do really like the movies though, although I thought the last one was the worst of the 3 movies. I think this one looks really good.

A fanatic stands in line at midnight to get the latest book. And crys or is exteremly disappointed when a major element of the story is uncovered.
And IMO the 3rd one was the best. The second one was the worse.

Read them all recently. Just saw the first 3 dvds. I was less than impressed after reading the books. There is just no fucking way that you can make a decent representation of those books on film and keep it under 4 hours long. Hell, Goblet of fire has like 100 (don't quote me on this) pages before they even get back to Hogwarts.

never cared about the books or films, the whole Harry Potter thing just seems too "kiddie" for me. the only reason i'd even consider seeing this movie in theaters is to see the Superman Returns trailer, but it will probably be on Access Hollywood or be available online around the same time. besides, 30 seconds of Superman and 90 minutes of a film i could care less about ain't worth my $8.00.

Saw the making of on HBO today. This movie looks like its gonna be the best of the 4. Whether or not you feel its a 'kiddie' genre, the movies are still pretty cool to check out.
Jimmys Dignity, check out the HBO thing. They show Hermonie learning how to dance during the Yule ball. I swear a couple of times it looked like it might be a lil too chilly in the room for her.

I've read all of the books & have seen all of the movies. I've enjoyed them all. Lots of people think that "Goblet of Fire" is the best of all of the books so far. I don't know if I agree with that, but I wouldn't argue against it.
The movie of "Goblet of Fire" could either be real good or real bad. At 732 pages, this book was much longer than the first 3 (the second longest was "Prisoner of Azkaban" at 448 pages) and there wasn't a lot of filler. Even a 2.5 hours, they're going to need to condense an awful lot to be able to tell the story in that timeframe. Hopefully they can do that without making the story too confusing.

I saw the goblet of fire, last night in LA, at the industry screening (aka the screening over populated by shitty studio execs and their little brats) and the movie was pretty fucking awesome.
my girldfriend is a huge fan and has read all the books, and she did say there was a lot cut out, but there was enough of the important stuff in there to make the story always moving forward. it never really felt like it was slowing down. but i guess when you're writing a 120 page script from an over 700 page book it shouldn't be that hard to do.
right now i think this is the best in the series. for what most people would think of as a kids movie, it's actually really sexual, harry and the kids are starting to date, these hot chicks from another school turn up, and there's even a bathtub scene between harry and a female ghost, which might teeter over the line of kiddy porn.
this movie is really not for kids, there are some things that happen, even in the first ten minutes that are actually kind of frightening, and kids were freaking out. kind of like us seeing the dath vader and the storm troopers for the first time as a kid, but even scarier.
i actually want to try and see this again this weekend.

Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire opens today and playing the pivotal role of Fleur Delacour - one of Harry's rivals in the Tri-Wizard tournament - is French actress Clémence Poésy. And "French actress", of course, is just another way of saying "topless actress". Turns out that Clémence is no exception.
This is a clip from the 2003 movie Bienvenue chez les Rozes. It's all in French, so I have no idea what it's about. From what I can tell, she seems to be playing a topless girl with an impossibly great boob-to-waist ratio. And she's feeling frisky! He's also French, and appears to be uneasy, probably because in the scene before this he was doing a mime about surrendering and smooshed his baguette while adjusting his beret. Why he's not wearing a striped shirt and tight black capri pants, I have no idea.

I've never seen any of them in theater, but I've seen all three on HBO. They have their moments, but I don't quite get the whole fandom about the books and movies.
I may very well see this one in theater, though, just because there's really nothing else out worth seeing and I'll get the urge to go to the movies sometime this week. Hope it's worth it.

MOVIE REVIEW....
Saw the movie today at a 6:00pm show...Overall is was good and had funny parts to it but the ending dragged a little bit and while it was good with a few dark overtones, it was not better than the last Potter film.
I'm not knocking it...I enjoyed it but not amazing or as good as the last one.
SIDE NOTE: King Kong looks AWFUL!

Saw the movie on Friday. Went to the 1145am showing alone since I couldnt convince ANYONE to come with me. I felt like such a little pedo.
Best movie in the series. The action scenes were just awesome. I was suprised how sexual it got at times. I cant imagine an 8 year old being able to sit through the tub scene with Myrtle. It was also really funny. They left out a shitload of stuff from the book but most of it was filler anyways. Quiddich World Cup was way too short.
Hermonie and the girls academy girls were hot as shit. She looked like such a little sexpot in her dress. Even Ginnys starting to look like she might have something going for her. Maybe thats why Harry eventually hits that shit.
I thought King Kong looked pretty cool. I had no desire to see it but that trailer changed my mind. The quick shot of the Empire state scene looked cool as shit.

Saw it with the girlfriend on friday. I have to say, I thought it kicked ass. Best of the 4. Sure a lot was left out but it still moved along well. I'm glad to see that the films are gradually becoming more adult oriented as they get older.
Ralph Fiennes does a good job as Voldermort, although he's not on screen for very long.

It's hard to do the Goblet of Fire justice as a movie. The book was more suspenseful than the movie. With the movie, the tasks are one after the other, so you're not in much suspense. I didn't see the third movie, but the third book was definitely better. There was more mystery to it, and even a bit of satire and political commentary. As for the ghost over Harry in the bathtub, since it wasn't intended as sexual, I don't think kids will even notice. As for sexuality in the sixth book, I thought it was funny how the password to get into the dormitory for a while was abstinence, and there were other sexual overtones.

I just saw it last night.   It was a damned good movie, even with the amount of the book that was left out. If they wanted to make it "more suspenseful" they'd have had to made the movie 4+ hours. I read Goblet of Fire a long while ago, so I'm kinda hazy on how exactly much they left out between the challenges.
The challenges are so much an important part of the actual plot of the book that it definately has to dominate the film.
On a personal note, I definately feel creepy after seeing my little girl in that dress...wow is she still clearly a young 15 :icon_redf I can't wait for the next movie, Order of the Phoenix is going to be quite the dark film

I saw it the first satuday it was out and really enjoyed it. My sister got me the first three books for my birthday back in september and I finished reading the sixth book about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I loved the series.
I think they did a good job with the fourth movie, but it sucks how much they're forced to leave out. Its understandable though, with the length of the fourth book being at least double the previous books. I thought this movie had the best funny moments with everyone trying to find a date for the dance and the dance itself.
And even though its around 2.5 hours long, it nowhere near feels it. I thought the second movie dragged on forever. I think I coulda sat through a 3+ hour movie for the fourth book. With the fifth one being even longer, I'll be curious to see how it turns out.

They skipped over a lot of stuff with Sirius. In the book, Harry met him in the fireplace many times for advice. They also glossed over the Rita Skeeter stuff where she was constantly writing about Harry and making up quotes from him. That was what caused everyone in the school to be mad at Harry, not the fact that he was in the competititon.
They also left out the entire sub-plot of Hermoine promoting the rights of house elves.

Very much so. Except, the vast majority of them want to take care of the chores. The few who will accept payment are ostracized by the other house elves.

i hate that they left stuff out, but i understand. you can't possibly include every detail when making a 2-3 hour film. even as good as lord of the rings was they left tons out of those movies. it always happens going from book to film, however, I think they do a good job with the harry potter movies.
I was kinda suprised that they passed over the Rita storyline. Doesnt her being an animagus help Hermonie in either the 5th or 6th book?
Yeah, but they can just give Hermoine the clues to figure it out when necessary. The movies can't be as dependant on the fact that the viewer has seen a previous movie as Rowling can be with the books.
