You'd think a deer could jump over that car, but judging from the stain, he never saw you coming.

A 16 year old decided to turn left without looking on monday and found me about 20 feet from him doing 35. My 2005 Equinox is 1,800 away from being totaled so far.Should I sell it to the Body man for the difference or let him fix it? You know he's going to find at least that much "Hidden Damage"

I spent a few years in Maine and can honestly tell you, that is MINIMAL damage. Those fuckers total SUVs, if you hit them right.

It must be that time of year, I had every species of animal try to get hit by me this week. The one that came closest was a hawk that had just scooped up some critter, I had to brake hard for that.
Nice pic m-g, it's pretty common for the dear to crap when they get whacked too.

Had four of them run out in front of me at night a few days ago. Good thing I have ABS and just bought 4 new tires to replace the completely bald ones that were on there. I actually ended up stopping in between the 2nd and 3rd deer (they were in a line). Only thing that saved me from hitting them is I was able to swerve hard at the last second while fully on the brakes thanks to the magic that is ABS.

If you live in a populated suburban area where alot of deer get hit, get used to it and prepare for more in the future. Overpopulation (like here in many parts of NJ) is forcing more and more deer onto highways and into neighborhoods, and I don't see it getting any better. What can we do, let hunters kill more? :icon_conf

DING DING DING!!! We have a WINNER:clap:

You sir are 100% right with the last sentance/question in your post. Wherever hunting is forbidden or even severly restricted, deer/car collisions rise sharply. Take a look at Princeton, NJ as a prime example - I know about 10 years or more ago they outlawed hunting and within a few years you could barely drive throguh town. Not sure if it's gotten any better or not since then. Deer are VERY adaptable and can thrive just about anywhere. A lot of states and localities have finally realized this and instituted special urban archery deer seasons. Other more liberal areas that are against hunting are hiring sharpshooters at outrageuos cost to thin out the herds. When will these asshats realize that hunters are willing to PAY the state to do this? Just another example of liberals thinking that we aren't responsible enough to live our own lives.

I myself plan to premptively stop 3-6 potential collisions over the next month or so once the season starts.Though they aren't likely to get in the way of many cars where I hunt you can never be too safe right?:action-sm

I wonder if he actually killed the deer when he hit it. I hit one in my old Grand Cherokee and completely shattered the front of the Jeep and the deer was still alive. Broke like 3 of its legs though. I had to pull out my 9 mm and put it out of its misery.

To this day, I am the only person I know who can claim to kill a deer with a 9mm. I don't know anyone else who can brag this.

How ironic you bring up Princeton, as my little incedent happend less than 10 minutes from Princeton, in East Windsor. I drive up and down this highway every day and I can count at least 5 dead deer on any given day in a 10 minute stretch of road. Good call with the liberal thinking and strategy. Fucking morons.

I killed one with my old Glock 20 10mm about 10 years ago. So you've got me by 1 mm but mine was perfectly healthy before the shot - I was hunting and this doe came by about 15 yds away and instead of using the rifle I double-tapped her through the lungs with the Glock (I was using Hornady 200 grain XTP loads). She went about 30 yds and that was it. All the guys I hunt with couldn't believe it - when I came out the first morning with the Glock on my hip they asked "what the hell is that for?" when I told them I was going to kill a deer with it they all laughed but I had the last laugh. That was an awesome gun but I sold it because it was getting harder, and much more expensive, to find ammo for it.

Don't do that... if you hit a tree, another car, etc. while trying to avoid a deer, its your fault, insurance goes up, blah blah blah.. If you hit the deer, insurance pays, and premiums stay the same.

Thats why I haaaate the left.

Ever here of Angie Mettler? She's the whore that wants to stop Bear hunting.

If you really want to "fix" the problem, allow hunting, and stop developement.
