Last week a purchased an XM giftcard for my father as a retirement gift. We call XM to activate the card and we're told that the card # is "invalid" and that we should return it to the place of purchase (Best Buy).
Fast forward to today. I return to the Best Buy and after dealing with a couple of managers they finally agree to give me another card. (I'm not complaining about BB here - they had no way of telling if I was trying to scam them or not). I return to my office, login to the XM account and try to active the giftcard. Again I'm told that I have an "invalid" card. I call XM again and get the same message from them.
Anyone else having this problem? Do you think that my Best Buy has a bad batch of cards?
To make things worse, XM seems unwilling to help me out here - they keep telling me to return the card to the place of purchase. Today, Best Buy made the first exchange but told me that I would have to deal with XM if the nex card was also bad. Of course, it was. Any suggestions on how I should handle this?
