They're air fresheners. I bought some about 6 months ago and wherever I went, whenever I was in a drive-thru of some sort, people were asking me about them. Now I see them everywhere.

I like them (aside from the fact that the scent wears out VERY quick), but everyone else that comes into my car can't stand them. They tell me it reminds them of a set of balls hanging from my rear view mirror.
