I was talking to a guy I work with and he told me that he just got a prescription for adderrall. I asked him why he was taking it and he was....hey look at that, Jeopardy's on.
HA! I kid. Anyway, he said that it was because he was unorganized as all hell, couldn't remember half the stuff he was told, was basically scatterbrained. He was taking Straterra but he said it gave him a rash. Anyway, the things he said were all the exact same things that I find happen to myself. Matter of fact, we had a meeting with contractors right after that and I couldn't tell you half their names and probably couldn't pick any out of a lineup. So I went to Dr. Internets and took this little questionnaire right quick. If you have/had ADD would you maybe please check this out and let me know what you would have scored back when you had problems? If you can pay attention long enough that is:icon_lol:
http://www.addresources.org/article_checklist_amen.php
I scored a 212 with the a score of 3,4,4 for the highlighted questions (1,6,7). I'm pretty sure I had more than 20 questions over 3 but I was just adding them on the calculator and didn't keep track.
Just double-checking to see if I really need to pursue this further or if I need to see a doctor for my mild case of hypochondria.

Just so you know, ADD is no longer a diagnosable disorder. It's either ADHD/H or ADHD/I

I got the ADD
haven't taken anything for it since I was a kid, and worked heavy construction since 16, but now that I'm studying for an inspectors license, I need the Adderall. I stopped taking that test when I realized every answer was 4

I could put down a 4 for most of those questions. Fuck that........
just grab a beer and relax. People take too many meds for stuff
that most of us all experience.

No sir, you are wrong. You can absolutely have the 'Attention Deficit' part without the 'Hyperactivity' part. I have it. I have the attention span of a 2 year old, and I HAVE to write things down otherwise I forget what I was supposed to do. But I am about as far away from hyperactive as you can get. Hell, I'm borderline lethargic. I took Ritalin from 5th grade all the way through senior year in high school. And it did work to some extent. I probably should see if I can go back on it or adderal because it really did help.

not to sound like a scientologist, but add is bullshit to me. it's either you care or you don't. and all kids have "add".

Holy Shit, I absolutely would be diagnosed if I went for testing. Before the test even started I scrolled down to the end to see how long the thing was. I could put a 3 or 4 for at least 3/4 of the test. Some of the questiones are fucked up though, bad handwriting, traffic violations that's kinda borderline, most tickets aren't because you forgot the speed limit, you just didn't give a shit. I just hate when the doctors put a kid on drugs at the drop of a hat. Kids are kids and they're gonna be active and hyper at times. That being said I work for a supermarket and I wish they would shoot all these little bastards up with a couple thousand milligrams as they enter the store to shut them the fuck up while they're in there.

Nothing too devestating
The 1st hour you cant do anything as you will be pretty much bugging out as far as the jumpiness you have
After that you focus like a laser beam
I wrote 14 pages of notes, front and back in like 2 hours, had blisters on my fingers from writing so much
Plus it kills appettie, so if youre looking to drop a few pounds it helps out too
This all coming from someone who doesnt have ADD so I dont know how it works for people its actually prescribed for

I don't believe that ADD or ADHD exist.
it does exist it just gets overdiagnosed. i have it and i just deal with it in my own way, i don't need drugs. i cannot fucking sit still unless i have like 3 things to occupy me, and even then my attention span is limited. i will be looking right at someone at times wanting to hear what they have to say and my damn mind just will not stay focused. my wife knows this so she stops trying to tell me something after the third try. what makes it worse is i also have mild OCD so i constantly forget where i put things from not paying attention and then can't stop until i find it.

They didn't have ADD when I was growing up. They called it Hyper Activity Syndrome wayy back when.
Got tested for it.
Turned out the Nuns bored me
They didn't like it.

I was given strattera...I hated the way it'd make me feel. I felt like a fucking zombie so I stopped taking it. I'd rather have add then to be a boring tool.

I definitely have ADD. I get distracted way too easily, so much that I'm often late for work because I got caught up doing something unimportant. And I fidget constantly . . . my most common fidget is running my thumbnail across the rest of my fingers repeatedly, sometimes with both hands at once. I was on ritalin when I was younger, but I can't remember if it helped much so I'm not sure if adderol would help either.

"So some of you may have been mean to a kid with ADD. That's not cool. Coffee? Anyone for - coffee anyone? All right, sorry. I like cotton candy. Check out my muscle. Potato chips. It's a Ferris wheel. So I guess what I'm trying to say is - plastic bag. Plastic bag. Plastic bag. Plastic bag. Plastic bag. Plastic bag." -From Clone High (highly underrated show before it got cancelled)
Ive always thought I have a mild case of it but never tried to get diagnosed. If im going to read a book or anything I need to drink like a pot of coffee or else I just get distracted and my mind wanders as I scan the pages. Somebody once told me that people with ADD or whatever have a kind of opposite reaction to caffeine and it calms them down instead of giving them energy. I dont know if thats true or not, but I usually drink coffee at like 7:30pm after dinner and pass out on the sofa by 8 then wake up with my belt undone and my roommate crying in the corner.
Ok, the last part wasnt true, but coffee does put me to sleep at night.

ok what was the question again?
I thought I was somehow developing ADD. Turns out I'm just iron deficient. It can make you as scatterbrained as ADD. That's why its always good to see a doctor every so often- you never know what could be wrong with you and how easy it could be to fix it. Of course the reverse is true too, but all the more reason to see a doc!
