Great read about what equipment the soldiers like, what the insurgents are using, tactics of both the US and the enemy and some overall views of the war.

Use hollow points or even better frangible ammo, they dump all their energy into the target. Reports from a contractor in Iraq about a one shot drop using a 5.56 M4 with a frangible ammo. It got all the boys on the front lines wanting to use them, but the DoD is too corrupt to do that.

Hollow points are banned from warfare from the Hague Convention.

I wonder if the military really sticks to every one of these pesky rules...I hope not

Yes, pretty much every modern military sticks to the no hollow point convention. It is actually REALLY old, from 1891 or something.
It's funny; it's usually illegal to use FMJ's in hunting, yet it's generally illegal to use hollow points in warfare.

I hate rules of war. We are there to kill people... who fucking cares how we do it? "You can kill the towel heads, but not with hollow points". Huh? Why not? Is it "cruel" to kill them with a hollow point? As opposed to what? Blowing them in half with a grenade? I should think that anything that can kill somebody quicker, as a hollow point does, would be encouraged to avoid suffering.
Of course... maybe they want those fuckers to suffer before they die.

Close, but the real deal is full auto and has a rail system all around the fore end. Some name brand frangible's are Mag-Safe or Extreme Shock. Good stuff for making things dead.

Might be getting the rail system soon. I wanna throw a flashlight in the thing, and the rails would allow me to add new stuff as I see fit.
