In light of recent events:
The last poll "Would you Cancel XM if O & A left?" was based on the premise "would you keep XM is O&A left on their own".

If they got fired, I'd throw my Roady2 out the window and fuck my mother.
Still wouldn't buy the doogy radio. I'd buy an Ipod and load it woth old shows.

I think the last thread covered either being fired or if they left
Not in the poll it didnt, If you voted on the premise that O&A left on their own, you can not change your vote or vote again, This is a little different

i would cancel both subs and definitely buy serius and listen to howard who i havent listened to since the boys got back on the radio. i am not paying xm anything if they dont have o and a period...

12-07-2005, 04:13 PM
whether or not O&A get fired, i would cancel my 3 XMs if they were not on XM because that is all i listen to on xm. sorry, i just cant get into any other channel. i want to just listen to my own cds, i have no interest in someone else programming the music i hear

I'd consider it, No Jimmy might mean no XM.

12-07-2005, 04:21 PM
If O&A go I'd get rid of my XM and I WOULD move to the little doggy company because at least they've got a respectable heavy metal station.
spikesglaring
12-07-2005, 04:21 PM
I would consider going to the Doggy company IN SPITE of XM. They should support the boys since they fucking supported the AOTM thing anyway. If I lose MLB, then so be it.

No Norton & Friends = more badder radio.
Outside of their choices in "shock jocks", I find Sirius's programming to be superior to XM's. (Just my personal taste, not anything worth arguing over.) If they were to toss O&A overboard, I'd toss my XM sub overboard. I might hold onto XM if they quit, but if they got forced out, I would definitely cancel out of spite.
On edit, how's this for a prediction: Five years from now, when Hoo Hoo finally gets too fucking old to even stay on the air for four hours without pissing on himself, and the bbboyz have had five years to build up a nationwide reputation as The Future of Shock Radio, Sirius will secretly offer O&A their own deal not too far removed from the crazy $500 mil they gave Howard, to take over the entire Hoo Hoo 100 empire. It will be made with Howard's full consent, and O&A will take it and jump ship.

12-07-2005, 04:23 PM
I would quit XM instantly. I got XM last year, never hearing O&A. Not I am a huge fan. If XM is going to be a bunch of wimps, I might as well listen to Howard on Sirius.
Arch Stanton
12-07-2005, 04:25 PM
It's all I listen to, well wait a minute, all I listen to is 202. So no, I would keep it because of Ron and Fez. Now, if they left also, then yes, it goes.
WadeFulp
12-07-2005, 04:26 PM
The only reason I got XM is for O&A. If they go, my XM subscription goes. The guys better not get fired because I just bought a My-Fi for Christmas and I won't be using it until Christmas day.
If XM fires O&A I'll put pressure on them to take back my My-Fi.

I spent over $1k on my car stereo system last year and I specifically got XM for the bbboys. They go... I go... and I won't go to the little doggy company either. I'll listen to the hum of my engine instead.

12-07-2005, 04:41 PM
I would be gone...
Long Duck Dong
12-07-2005, 04:42 PM
The only reason I keep my XM subscription is for O&A. I bought a Sirius, because I am a Stern fan also. I planned on keeping both going, but without a doubt if O&A leave or get fired, my XM subscription would get cancelled that day.
* I didn't get to hear the live show this morning, I am sitting here freaking out right now right now listening to the replay and they just left for the 40 minute meeting! I am going to have to blow off work the rest of the day so I can hear what is going on.
Good Luck Bro's!!

12-07-2005, 04:42 PM
I wouldn't want to, but I'd have to for the boys. I got it for them in the first place and I really don't use it for much more than them. I do really enjoy R&F so that woul make it harder for me to do it, but, like I said, I'd have to just to say fuck you to XM.
SkyPod
12-07-2005, 04:42 PM
I would keep my XM for Ron and Fez, Squizz, Phil Hendrie, and all the rest. If O&A leave then I'll atleast support their friends.

12-07-2005, 04:47 PM
Didn't get XM for the boys but its the only channel its ever tuned to... From NY so listen to Hoo Hoo once in awhile even tho he's a poser.. but i'll listen to him if XM has no balls and lets them go... Jimmy must be taking it pretty hard.. it being his birthday and all
Gilligan
12-07-2005, 04:48 PM
I'd cancel the sub and buy a sirius unit just so I could call up and annoy Hoo hoo with "O&A Party Rock" calls. After all, how else am I going to be entertained?
DownWithTheHoo
12-07-2005, 04:50 PM
since i got xm for reasons other than O&A, I'd keep XM... but i'd be very disappointed with them if they fired O&A over what happened yesterday!
Tonykinetic
12-07-2005, 04:52 PM
If these guys go, I won't be gone immediately...i already got XM in my truck, BUT if they wind up on sirius, FM, or the goddamned BBC - I'm long gone!! I waited 2 years for these bastards and I'll buy any system to keep 'em!
O&A and Ron/Fez are the only balancing factor that XM has for Breuer and Howie. These reporters could've made a story about the assault on the media months ago, but they really didn't want to acknowledge it....until now that they believe they can put a "victim" angle on this...poor media, I guess now they'll start respecting everyone elses personal space - not in a million years!
Tonykinetic@yahoo.com
In the previous poll, I answered it as if O&A left on their own. I said that I would hold out a little while and then make a decision.
However, if O&A were fired over this, there would be no way that I would continue to support XM. Last year, before the rate increase, I paid for a 5 year subscription. Prior to doing this, I made sure that I would receive a pro-rateed refund if I decided to cancel at some time in the future. If O&A were fired, I would immediately request a refund of the 4+ remaining years that I have paid for.

I can go back to 660 for the mets. OnA leave XM I cancel my account.

12-07-2005, 04:57 PM
There's no way I would stay if the boys were gone. I love Ron and Fez but I'd have to make a stand. This is such a petty thing and the person responsible should be the one that pays the price. But that's not how things are handled in this country. I just hope that we are all overreacting. Especially because I just shelled out 2 bills to buy a new TAO. I would hate to have to use it as a doorstop.

Anyone who claims that they would switch to Sirius is a fraud! Have we not spent the past year bashing the hell out of that company and their mascot, Howie Stern? XM, with or without O&A, is the superior service. It has better music programming, better technology, better radios, and better sports programming. I had XM before O&A, and I'll have it long after they're gone. I just hope that they stay as long as possible.
MilitantRabbit
12-07-2005, 05:10 PM
I'd keep my XM. First, my car has no terr. radio antenna. Second, No commercials and great music is ALWAYS better than regular radio's crap.
I'd also buy a Sirius, a gun, and a full clip. I'd throw the unit on the ground, say "Invent this" very coldly like Van-Damme, and unleash hell with the gun.
Torlough
12-07-2005, 05:11 PM
I would keep it I have found XM 150 good and I will listen to that when O&A are in Replay and R&F arent' on. I like it I would keep it. Besides I learned during NEW that a few hundred fans won't make that big of an impact.

Sirius? We arent bashing the doggy just because of Howard!
FM? Never again

The music is equal but different IMO.
If you dont live in a city Sirius has a better signal....say what you will about there technology.
XM radios are a jillion times better.
The sporta are even IMO....NFL talk 24-7 rocks.

I have 2 accounts, and would cancel them both; due to the fact I bought XM just for O&A. If they would to be fired I'd switch to Sirius. As lame as Howard is nowadays, he still beats 99% of the shit out there.
PestoftheNorth
12-07-2005, 05:31 PM
If they were fired, I'd probably hang around as long as Ron and Fez were still with it. Then bail once they took off...
Joe_M
12-07-2005, 05:33 PM
I'd definately be done with XM.
Mostly on principle alone, but also because XM has become INCREDIBLY shitty in regards to Metal music, and The Boneyard is a fuckin joke now.
This is a unique situation though. For the first time, the listener REALLY will have a voice. There aren't sponsors to threaten to go after, and if every O&A fan dumped the service on the day they were fired, I'm sure it wouldn't be appreciated.
But regardless, in MANY ways, XM cannot afford to fire O&A right now.
It would be committing market suicide. There is NOTHING else in league to battle Stern on Sirius.
XM better really think this one through, and not make a knee jerk reaction.
Artie76
12-07-2005, 05:36 PM
I would cancell. I would throw it out and jump out the fucking window at the same time
Clit Commander
12-07-2005, 05:37 PM
I would cancel all accounts in my name. My girlfriend can do what she wants with her MyFi but XM would never get a red cent of my money again. This isn't terrestrial radio with a mega corporation like Infinity running a hundred stations and now they have to deal with the Catholic League (not even the church, if anyone remembers from that episode.) The Catholic church never made a statement regarding Sex for Sam, but the Catholic League was the one who made the headlines.
Why XM would fire O&A on the cusp of HOO HOO coming to satellite is beyond me. Especially since some asshole "ACTING" Govenor of NJ opens his pie hole. An acting Govenor is there to go through the motions, all he needs to do is show up, take orders from those around him who actually do his job and go home. Have a few drinks and bang a secretary or two. If the police didn't arrest this individual at the scene, obviously no crime was committed. Now could some bogus charge get trumped up once a few lawyers have some drinks and come up with a bogus scam of a case? Sure. But right now I see no realistic reason to fire the boys and/or cancel the show. There is nothing wrong with assault on the media, there is something wrong with the asshole who is rooning the entire bit for the rest of us and I move that we police ourselves and make this person's life a hell on earth of sorts for a few weeks to teach him a lesson.

They are the only reason I even purchased an XM radio and subscribed. The only reason only. I think I have gone through all the channels once or twice just to see what else XM has, but since then my radio has not left 202. Not once.

12-07-2005, 05:38 PM
I would sell my MyFi on EBay and go to Sirius.

I would keep XM no matter what, the music channels beat the shit out of anyhting on regular radio, plus the sports coverage can't be beat
PinballTec
12-07-2005, 05:43 PM
Well. I'd have to give up the XM since they were the reason I bought into it. Then I would go back to doing what I did before. Downloading all the bits of the show I could and burning my own O&A cds and burning my own music. Thats what got me through the 2 years they were gone. I can do an entire broadway musical based on the clips I have memorized while they were gone.

I got XM October last year just for OnA, I dumped at least $600 on gear(including a MyFi) and just bought my dad a Delphi for Xmas....All subs would be cancelled and all gear would be on sale @ Ebay. XM is nice but without OnA it's just worthless to me
Jammin918

Fuck no, if O&A got fired I would cancel everyone of my three subs. The only reason that I have XM is to listen to O&A.

Lil Doggy Co. has an exclusive contract with the NFL. And I'm sure they will corner the market on other sports. So in regards to your "thier sports coverage cant be beat" I doubt it will hold up. Without O&A, XM will be worthless.

I had XM B4 O&A, but that is ALL I listen to and could never go back to regular radio or any other radio for that matter. I listen to other stuff and it turns my stomach.
So, if they did get canned I would cancel my XM for sure.
I did send an email to E-Lo saying this, he actually replayed and said to Relax and that everything would be OK.
I think it was all a big "HAHA, Elbow to the ribs" by Ope in the first place, lets hope...
PS. Yes I do enjoy Ron & Fez (not sound board Fez) but 3 hours a day of them is not enough to make me keep XM if GOD FORBID....

If Opie and Anthony hadn't come to XM, I wouldn't have gotten a satellite radio. If O+A are pulled off the air, I will cancel my XM and just get an MP3 player. XM without O+A would suck, but it wouldn't be as bad as Sirius.

This just sucks. Hopefully it'll all work out but no, 202 is the only thing I listen to and I'd cancel it immediately if they're gone. While R & F have been great in the past, right now they're stuck in the same rut they were in towards the end of WNEW, endlessly bashing some producer and just not worth paying for.

The only difference between Doggy Radio and XM is talk (O&A vs. Howie, etc.) and sports (MLB vs. NFL, etc). The music's the same. I wouldn't listen to Howie, but I'd cancel and pick up Sirius just to make a statement.

I'm a loyal member of the XM nation since 2002. I've loved it since long before the bbboys came on. However, if XM fires them over what a fucking idiot did on his own, I will gladly cancel all 3 of my subs, and return the 4 other XM radios I have all wrapped up ready to give as Christmas presents. For the record, in the other poll, I voted that I would not cancel if they left on their own.

I agree. We are the advertisers that they were bowing to before. Do they listen to the people who are paying the money to them every month, (close to $65,000,000 from sub rates) or bow down to some stumble bum political asshole that only got the job because his boss couldn't pull the cock out of his ass.
I hope E-LO can step up and show everyone that he is making a stand and will listen to the subscribers instead of the political bullshit flying around over this.

Beyond AM....Beyond FM....its XM satellite radio. Now that tells me that XM is a member of a new breed of broadcasting. They are new fresh and bold....not going to follow the terrestrial radio rules. So they BETTER back up O and A or they will be just showing their hypocrisy and will be no better then regular radio. And why would I pay 22.00 a month for two plain old crappy radios? THAT WOULD BE CRAZY OF ME, so I would just cancel and listen to free crappy radio.

I work for General Motors and hear XM almost daily in the cars. I felt that there was no need to purchase it. Then over a year ago I heard O and A and Lil Jimmy were on 202. I knew then I had to have it .I have 2 skyfI units and if they left XM for whatever reason I would cancel my accounts.

Do you really think XM would risk taking a hit in the market and lose all that money? I think that if worse comes to worse, then the least they could do would be settle out of court with this asshole reporter so he would go away. Or they could offer him a job at XM to shut him up, and then blow him out after a while claiming his work wasn't up to par. Think about it.........

Excellent idea, JSHAW, I will also send my SMASHED Roady to E-Lo! I would hope that everyone who cancels their subs do the same. A couple thousand packages of pulverized XM radios sent to XM HQ would send a message! If those fucksticks in D.C. fire our bbboys, there will be hell to pay. I'm with you on that dude. I have 3 XM radios on my account and I planned on adding a fourth. Plus, I have DirecTV on 4 TV's in my house with O&A + various other channels. I rarely turn to any channel other than 202. You couldn't pay me to get a Sirius unit and I can't go back to commercial radio. I sincerely hope that if they get canned, Channel 7 will get hit with AOTMs every day - show up behind the reporter and yell "Bring O&A Back!"

I'd be on pissed off mother fucker. Unfortunatly my dad pay's for the radio and he doesnt listen to the boys. so he says he won't get me sirius or cancel mine.
so unfortunately i can't do a thing about it :(
however XM would feel the wrath. i'd do whatever i could to promote sirius radio.
i already used to promote XM, if there gone. hello sirius

I love the boys, but I had XM before them and I'll still have it WHEN they get fired. I don't think that this is it, but it's probably inevitable... eventually.

They blow these things at football games all the time - is everyone that sits around the guy with it in his hand now hearing impaired??? Not saying the guy may not really have some injury...but ABC are licking their chops over this...they win this one....I think E-Lo will come through also. Poor poor bbb- boyz..and I would imagine the guy responsible must feel like the biggest tool right now. Amazing how all it takes is one person to fuck it up for everybody.

I would not keep it. The only reason that I keep XM is for the O&A show. XM used to have a music channel that played the music that I like which was xm 42 xmlm but they removed that channel which makes XM useless for me unless O&A are on it.

12-07-2005, 09:39 PM
had it since 2000, and it's factory equiptment in my truck. I'd keep it
Tax Kuntz
12-07-2005, 09:55 PM
I'd keep it for a while too see how much I liked all of the other content. I flip around at night while driving, but it's on 202 at least 75% of the time.
I got it for O & A, so how would I know if I liked it without them. I'd give it a chance.
The army would probably attack XM and all their programming for a while, so that would be fun.
i would support the little doggy company, mainly the reason i got Xm in the first place was to listen to nascar. I find myself working on sundays, and the little doggy has nascar in 07 and the nfl. I like baseball, but really only give a damn when it's in the playoffs. HOWEVER. that being said, as long as the bbb b boys are on XM, i'm stayn right here

I have 3 radios and I'd cancel them all!
I might keep it, cause I love all the stations, but would be SEVERELY dissapointed in XM if they get fired for someone elses stupidity.
Saint pats was different, cause the boys told them what to do.
The Boston Mayor stunt was done by them directly.
This was different. They made it very clear to not touch any reporters, and I feel they conveyed a very clear message indirectly not to hurt anyone.
Awful Me

Here's my take on this mess...
I got Sirius when there was heavy speculation the boys were heading that direction. Of course I was stuck with it for a year but during that year the boys landed @ XM so then I had both. During my initial experience with Sirius in the Philly area I had reception problems but I have to say the music content and comedy channels were very good. I didn't care much for XM when I first got it but it grew on me and I really like it but I only pay for it so I can hear O&A. If they leave, i'll keep XM until my pre-paid subscription ends and then i'm out. I'll sooner get a fucking IPOD or Napster Subscription so I can download unlimited music and listen in the car. I have no time for FM radio and rarely listen to AM unless it's sports or news/traffic.
My 2 cents...

no way, i'd cancel all three subs and flush the fuckin radios, or smash them and send them to e-lo. O&A = REASON FOR XM. been a fan since they were at wnew and only went to xm for them, my XM ONLY GET'S CHANNEL 202

I paid upfront one year's worth of monthly fees to listen to Opie and Anthony unmolested, if anything were to happen to them, I would demand a refund and I would send the XM radio in my car to the makers of Sirius to reverse engineer their technology and allow Sirius the ability to mass produce smaller satellite radios so that there would be a level playing field in the satellite market. Until then, until Opie and Anthony are let go, my loyalties lie with them and Hoohoo along with Sirius can go fuck themselves...

I have had XM for a couple years now, but I became a fan of the boys as soon as they hit the air on the pay channel. Since the poker chip incident, I have not missed a show. If they get fired, I may have to go to Sirius or find more constructive things to do with my time. Ron and Fez are nowhere near good enough to keep my subscription.

12-08-2005, 01:29 AM
I'd cancel it for two reasons. First, the boys aren't on there and that's what I listen to 80% of the time. Secondly, well, it would depend what they got fired for. If they got fired for the same reason as WNEW (management has no backbone) then I wouldn't repect them and would load e-lo's inbox with even more gay porn.
EDIT: Oh yeah, then I'd be dropping the atom bomb on live shots all over the fuckin place.

Id cancel my XM and toss my MyFi up on e-bay. I bought XM because I thought it would be nice to have, but I keep it now 100% for the bbbboys. My dialonly leaves 202 when my tuneselect goes of for a song I really want to hear. Not very fricking often, really. I wouldnt go to the doggy company unless O&A went there. DOnt see thta happening, though.

Being an otr trucker at this point, looking to get off the road and go back to school I would have no reason to keep XM. The only reason I got it 3 years ago was nascar and music for the "long haul" then the boy showed up so I listen to the show live then most of the replays. I fell in lust with the freedom of finnaly hearing some raw radio, so I guess if they go I go is my answer.

Satellite radio is supposed to be above the regular radio shit.

When I got my 1st Xm I didn't know about O&A. 2 more XM's later,I have to say I absolutely would give away all my XM's cancel my subs, and get 3 sirius units to replace them. That would take all of 15 minutes and I'm dead serious.
There is really nothing seriuos dosen't offer that I wouldn't get with XM except O&A.All the same bands are going to be played on all the similar stations etc.Fox news and sirius are having a hard time negotiating but they'll work it out.
I LOVE XM and believe it's just a better Co.,but with out O&A,I'd go in a minute.

Ah that made me chuckle.
In my opinion, Although I love the show, I am not going to throw out a good system, boombox, and car kit because one show left. I got into XM because of crystal clear sound and commercial-free music in my home or driving anywhere. If the boys are given the ax, I would be dissappointed, but then would still keep the equipment because, I thinking getting rid of those units, which sure are expensive and switch to the enemy to "make a statement" seems a bit silly and rash.
So, I would keep it.

the only reason im getting xm is for o&A. bin a listener since NEW days and just counting the days till i get XM. I don't listen to anything but O&A, so the rest of the service is pretty much useless to me. I'm barely into music, no matter how good, so I'd be lying to myself if I tried to get hooked on some other station.

If O&A cotinue to try to push the envelope and condone pest involvement, then claim that they had nothing to do with it they will be canned soon.
2+ yers passed in the time that they lost their jobs on WNEW. They keep thinking that if they unleash the pests on their behalf they will get fired.
opie claimed that he was cancelling the AOTM and the very same show called out an AOTM on the Today show for claiming that Stern is the first shock jhock going to satellite.
If they get fired because of their stupidity I will go to Sirius and listen to Stern and not give it a second thought.

Save yourself some time. Why wait, when you can listen to sub par radio now (or come january)!
I won't give it a second thought if they get fired either. Like they said, this is it. If they get fired, its over, don't both rallying support this time.
As for listening to stern, I laugh at your bad taste

I work 12 hr. shifts and 202 is on for 11 of those 12. O&A ever leave, I just go back to talking to myself.

When I first got my XM I don't think that I changed from channel 202 for the 1st 3 months. If they get canned my XM goes.
My father in law has sirius and his classic rock stations are much better than the ones XM has, (Just my taste in music) plus they have the NFL, I could give a rats ass about baseball, hockey, and Nascar. So it would basically be useless for me.
But with that huge ass sign covering Madison Square Garden I don't think the boys are going anywhere, anytime soon.

O & A are the "only" reason I have XM. I currently have 3 accounts (will prob get a 4th, XM ToGo for Christmas). I would cancel all my accounts and you would find my radios on E-Bay. I would take any money I would get from the sales and buy an I-Pod. The only reason I do not own an I-Pod is because of O & A.I would not go to the "Doggie Style" company. I would sit in my room for months listening to O & A repeats..........

I would cancel XM promptly if O&A got fired or quit due to the white man keeping the black men down.
