CNBC just mentioned XM's attempt to combate the Stern-Sirius' media blitz w/ heavy advertising w/ celebs like Snoop, Elen and Derek Jeter. Fuckers never mentioned O & A.

Considering that OnA understand how the useless fuckfaced media douche lickers work, not surprising.
I think it smacks of Hoo-Hoo taking credit for lunar travel (which he did with Neil Armstrong, IIRC)

she was just licking Howard's ass. it's not like she was gonna say that he's the second shock jock show to go to satellite, or else he'd probably blow a gasket and leave the interview, which would be a riot to see, but the likelihood of the media trying to pis Howard off and risk more whining from Howard is highly unlikely. so we're just gonna have to keep pestering him until he does go apeshit. :icon_mrgr

he'll probably still use the "Iraqi Ministry of Information"-type defense he's always been using - dumping the call out and pretending it never happened. i find it particularly ironic that now that he's moving to Sirius where you can supposedly say whatever you want, yet his dump button will probably get just as much of a workout if not more. :icon_mrgr

Yes, we are all O&A fans. Yes, we think its a superior show. Yes. Yes. Yes.
But outside of the O&A fan network, O&A are really smalltime. XM doesnt want to promote and shell out more money cuz O&A have peaked. They will not draw anymore "mass" listeners than they already have. It's a loss for XM to throw any huge cash at O&A advertising.
Howard on the other hand is a household name. Ive come to stops on my delivery route and ive had women (late 30's and 40's) talking about Howard, I've come into offices where younger women (20's) were talking about getting Sirius for their boyfriend/husband. Howard Stern is mainstream and even if we think he's washed up and no longer funny...... he's still worth the investment. When Howard signed Sirius had over half a million subscribers....now they're what? ... 3 MILLION plus? Sirius now outsells XM units and thats not including how many they'll sell from now til X-mas and then the early months of the year when Howard is still in the middle of his media blitz.
I got a question....if XM were to drop O&A from their lineup. Would you back them with signing with Sirius and joining Stern? You never know guys. You never know.
Oh, i already heard about Howard throwing a funeral once Sirius surpasses XM in subscribers. Forecasters say that its possible but no sooner than mid 2008. Howard will still be under his current contract. That would be interesting.
Let the wars begin!!

technically glenn he would be the third shock jock to join satellite radio because ron and fez could just barely be considered that.
also, diealready, a good portion of those three million subs that sirius is reporting as having are actually in cars that have not yet been purchased.

wow, how could i forget R&F? when you put it that way, it makes Howard look even more pathetic. both O&A and R&F beat him to satellite.

actually, i read in Forbes that XM has more cars with their units than SIrius so that contradicts your statement. It dont matter. This is getting way interesting. I got stock in both.
On a different, yet related note: My sister bought XM stock when it crashed early on and was under $1, so she says. I hope its true, cuz she bought in the thousands and she's not touching it.

Though XM has more factory installed XM units, XM doesn't count these as subs until the radios are activated. Sirius counts the factory installed units as subs, before the car is even purchased.
I can fart into a microphone and print 1,000,000 cd's of the sound, but that doesn't make it a platinum record until I sell them all.

Actually both companies did that...though Sirius a lot more.

Not gonna happen. Howard is the king of having his screeners block unwanted calls. So unless you're not sucking him off, you'd get hung up on.
