There has been much argument when it comes to these two FPS games.

For a long time, Goldeneye was the absolute best FPS game out there. The single player was fun, the multiplayer was amazing, and for the N64, the graphics were pretty damn good. Although the Nintendo 64 had its problems (such as the fucking controller that's entire left side was useless), it still had some great games, and Goldeneye was the best.

Halo came out with the Xbox and it has to be one the best, if not the best, FPS of all time. Amazing graphics, brilliant storyline, and hardcore multiplayer gameplay made this game a classic.

Both of these games are extremely fun and each have been dubbed "best FPS." But which one do you all think is better? Halo or Goldeneye?

You may commence the debate.

As much as I love Halo, Goldeneye64 was amazing and never got old. I loved going around using priximity mines. I rocked at that game.

The halo grenade dynamic sealed the deal for me. Goldeneye was a fantastic multiplayer game, but at the time I was really into it, if Halo was available, I probably would have played Halo more.

goldeneye for sure..im thinking of buying a 64 off of ebay for some of the 64 games and goldeneye is one of them..i wish i hadnt sold mine

I still have like 6 or 7 N64 games laying around. Think I have the system in storage. I might have to take it out and play one of these days.

I have to say that I think Halo was a better game. I played the shit out of Goldeneye due to being in college when it came out and there were a dozen of us who loved that game. At any point in the day on any given day there would be a person waiting to get in on a 2 on 2 game. If Xbox had been out at the time there would have been 4 tvs and 16 people always. Halo is just a better game.

even though the graphics suck compared to Halo and there's no multiplayer (besides with friends on 1 system), still better game.

plus N64 had best controller ever for FPSers.

another reason...i was undefeated. no one i knew could beat me. even 3v1. and i'm not full of shit...but on Halo i get my ass kicked online...

perfect dark on N64 is even better than Halo. more weapons and better control...

goldeneye was the first fps with like a dossier of objectives and mission goals.

I'd say that it, along with half-life were the games that really fps games from the doom/quake model to what we have now. Halo is a finegame, but some of the levels blow and half of the halo 2 campaign was spent shooting robots on elevators and moving platforms (just awful). Halo 2 on live was a good time though.
