I'll have plenty of pics. My wife does the scrapbooking thing so she
takes tons of photos. We went to California recently and she filled a one
gig memory card in less than a week. I'll have plenty of pics to post.

Good Good, I plan on posting some good championship pics on here in a month

Petty Racing Experience cars were running around. I got to do that

Those cars really are awful looking.
Like it makes a difference what model they'll be running, they all look the same.
They could have a Chevette running the COT and people would think it's a fucking Charger.
NASCAR really fucked this one up. Nice wing, looks like a chinkyspicmobile.

Yup. Just got up about a half an hour ago and it's cool and partly cloudy
but doesn't look like rain anymore. Today's practice sessions and the
truck race should go off no problem.

The COT does look like a rice grinder with that godaweful PepBoyeez style alumi-wing, but the body of the car itself isn't too horrendous. It actually looks more like a real stock car than what the current body style is.

Interesting that Dodge is ditching the Charger so quickly for a car that's not really that different.

Dodge probably doesn't want the Charger to be classed with cars such as the Monte Carlo, the Fusion, etc, and to have it associated more with the Mustang, 'Vette. I don't blame them, and the Avenger definetly looks more like the Fusion

It was nice seeing him get right into Newman's face after the race on pit road, where was that intensity after Yeley wrecked him at Lowes. That's two weekends in a row that Newman has pissed someone off, no wonder I can't stand him, although I would fuck his wife

Martin's intensity after Lowes was more of the "Hello, God? I know that kid sucks, but man I'm much more happier I'm praying to you now than talkin' face to face, so I'll be nice." sort. Today he was just fine so he could afford to be pissed off.

That was a good race. 1st IROC I have seen live. Congrats to Smoke
for winning the championship this year and Truex for winning the race.

The truck race was a good one too. Martin went out early by a slip-up
on his own. I thought Benson might take the points lead til he dropped
a drive shaft in front of us. We were on a motorhome by turn 2.
Had a great view of about 90% of the track.
Bliss had a fast truck. Not surprised he took it all.

Before the race we got to go into the driver's motor home area.
( Friends of our's got us in ) I meet Richard & Kyle Petty and have
pics with both to post later. I also got them to autograph photos that
I took of a commemorative mini-hood I own showing the 4 generations
of the Petty family. ( Lee, Richard, Kyle & Adam ) We also saw
Harvick, J Gordon, Burton, and Biffle while we were there but
couldn't really talk to them since we weren't supposed to even
be there. Didn't want to press my luck.

I never got to meet Deadhead. Bummer. It just never worked out
since I was staying in a hotel and was usually in the infield the

they showed it over and over again after the race and there was no way that it didn't come from inside his car. Even after the race when they caught up with him and showed Gordon the footage and he denied it you could tell in his face that he was guilty as shit. I loved how he said it looked like the debris came up from the rear of the car when you could see it flying out of the window. Dumbass, at least he didn't wreck to chasers that were running 1-2 on the last lap though like some other little shitdick we know.

If you are using flickr, then just go to the "uploading tools" section
and download their Flickr Uploader.
When you have that installed you can just drag & drop pics into it
and it uploads them real easy.
Attachments are limited to a vey few people here since they stay
on our files and tend to eat up alot of space.

What Harvick did to Riggs was no different from what Bowyer did to Jr earlier, but I guess Riggs is used to running near the back of the pack at the end of a race that he over reacted to Harvick taking the air off the back of his car.

#10 crew member/Harvick scuffle: reported on Speed Channel's SPEED Report by Bob Dillner, per FoxSports.com:
Emotions definitely flowed over to the postrace activities as the guys walked to the garage area. After the Dickies 500, the #10 and the #29 teams were coming down the entrance way to the garage area where all of the teams bring their pit boxes. There was an altercation between the #10 team and Kevin and DeLana Harvick. Apparently, Kevin and DeLana both got knocked down. NASCAR's Jim Hunter told me they are investigating the situation wholeheartedly and expects that there will be fined and penalties either Tuesday or Wednesday. "After the fact, right out of the moment, everybody's pretty hot-headed (and) got to running their mouth a little bit," Richard Childress Racing Director Mike Dillion said. "That's about all it was. Somebody got shoved, and they're sorting it out now. But they shoved Kevin and his wife down in front of the pit box is what was bad. Everybody out here has done it in their racing career at some point in time. It's just unfortunate. The guys need to let the drivers handle it. One of the NASCAR officials got hurt trying to stop the box," Dillion continued. "That's pretty bad, too. Hurt his ankle so they took him to the infield care center." A lot of people were called to the NASCAR trailer after this race, including Rodney Childers, the crew chief for Scott Riggs and the #10 team. He's responsible for the actions of everybody. DeLana and Kevin Harvick were both brought in as well. Several eyewitnesses were brought in. In fact, Roger Penske was up there talking to NASCAR President Mike Helton and Nextel Cup Series Director John Darby and everybody that was looking at the incident.(11-5-2006)

Sutsu

For Junior to win the cup, JJ has to blow up and Jr. has to make up 56 points on Kenseth, even less on Hamlin or Harvick (those two would have to make up even less on Kenseth). It's not totally out of the question for that to happen, considering JJ did wreck there last year, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that.

For JJ to lose, he has to blow an engine or get wrecked, neither of which are totally out of the question (just very unlikely). Junior doesn't seem to run well here, nor does Kenseth, so if JJ does go down, I'll go out on a limb and say it's either going to be Hamlin or Happy winning their first championships.

Has a rookie ever taken it their first time out? It would be a hoot for Denny to win both the Shootout, a few races, and the Cup his first year.

Homstead hasn't been a good track for JJ but I just have to believe
that he will do it this year. Things are going too well for him.
I don't see him losing it unless he wrecks or blows up.

A Rookie has never been a cup champion.... if i was a driver in the Cup Series today and that happens I would be ashamed of my self as a person and a driver and if JJ loses today because of a mistake he or his team made ... he should hang him self from the start finish line or a little less extreme retire from racing and hide

JJ smokes all of NASCAR and wins the 2006 championship.

Hendrick has won how many now? Hard to count that high.

They've won one championship for every 10 fans that boo the living crap out of Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch.

Congrats to JJ. I wonder if he'll be calling the b-b-b-boys tomorrow?
Congrats to Denny Hamlin for dominating the rookie class this year. I hope he doesn't fall into the same sophomore slump that Khane and Edwards fell into.

Did Mikey Waltrip say "Your Mom's Box" to Dodge at all today? Bring on the Toyotas!!

if you mean NASCAR is a pole then yeah JJ smokes it

and hendrick has 6.... but with three different drivers.

Richard Childress has 6 with one driver.

Well, I'm finally home from sunny southern Florida, and I'm more than happy to get out of that cultural melting pot. Race weekend was awesome, getting to see Martin win the truck race was kind of special as it could well be his last win in any Nascar division. The Busch race was good, I was sitting row 6 right at the start finish line and between Kenseth's burnout that left the track on fire and Harvicks hellacious burnout it made it worth sitting that low. One thing at Homestead is you can sit somewhat low and still see the corners and backstretch. The cup race was an unreal experience (first time), Jr flew on the first long green flag run and when he was out front for the 40 some laps, it was wild in the stands. Sucked he and Smoke finished shitty, but watching Montoya blow up and even seeing Johnson winning the championship was cool. I have a shitload of picture and when I get a chance I'll post some either here or on some other site linked here.

The whole event makes them look like dumb hillbillys.
Nascar owns every one of them and it sucks to watch them being put in positions that they have to look at there pr people to see what is OK to laugh at.

I haven't watched any of the awards stuff yet, all taped though. One question, does anyone know when tickets for the fall race at Lowes go on sale? I want to head there next fall but all that's up is the summer race there. I was going to go to 'Dega or Martinsville but I'd rather not go to a COT race in the cars first year. I could easily go to two races a year now, being at one live was awesome, although 12-14 hours at the track for three days makes for one hell of a hangover.
