I was going to post this in the gameing site but since the boys advertise this site and the issue is with the ads I feel that this is the place to put it. Anyways, I really dont have much to say or have any comments about the way the boys do their show as I "get it" with what they do.
What I dont get is why are they endorse a crappy product like Bodog . net. Please dont give me a stupid answer that it was for the money, unless WBL says He pulled a Hoo Hoo deal. This is what I think, The ads on O&A are so silly that its like they are being sarcastic when they do their live reads.
I know that I might be stiring the pot here and might be called out on this, but after visiting and joining up to Bodog.net I was greatly disapointed. I am glad that I didnt go right to Bodog.com and started to play with real money.When I went to Bodog, My expectations were to really learn something I allready didnt know about betting, hand placement and stuff like that since I play everyday, I know that no matter how long you have been playing, theirs allways new stuff to learn in poker. Well, let me tell you that 1 web page on how to play Texas Hold em is a freakin joke. Not only that the basic graphics are cheesy as well.As far as learning how to play, out of the 4 poker sites I have gone to, I would say Full Tilt had the advantge hands down, not only do they have weekly full page publication on how to play and tips from the pros themselves ie Phill Ivy, Gordon, ect ect, but they also have a pretty large Message Board as well.

Ok Ok, I am done and I am ready for an ass whoopen if its called for,,Sonny

I signed up for Bodog a month ago.....for real money, and I'm very happy with the site. Although, Sonny, I do see your point about the whole "learning" or lack there of. But overall I really like the site. Signed, A degenerate gambler :action-sm

Fuck BoDog.com and fuck playing poker. . . Backstroke Roulette is MY game of choice. . . :icon_wink

I HATE those BoDog spots just as much if not MORE than the LeftJab promos!!! I guess I'll bear with O&A (whores!!!) while they "pay-the-bills". . . :icon_roll

I have used BoDog for years for sports betting, and they are great, I have played poker on their site for as long as they have had it, and while I use PokerStars more, bodog isn't bad.
And as far as Bodog.net goes, it's a legal way to advertise the bodog name. The spots do sell it as something it isn't, but I don't give a shit.

Your missing the point here sir, this isnt a thread for people that dont like online poker or O&A advertisements. They need the sponsers. Its just about how they go about doing them

Bodog.com = real gambling site
Bodog.net = learning site

Party poker, poker stars and the rest do the same thing.

They advertise .net in the hopes you will end up on .com gambling.

The live reads are half tongue in cheek. All the live reads are so monotone and made to sound uninteresting. With the poker, as long as you advertise .net, it's legal.

I also love how Opie does his deadpan read for all the products. It's definatley sarcasic, as if he is saying to us..."I don't give a shit about this, neither should you".

I look at the live reads as more of a bit than an actual advertisement.
I have never tried any of the products that advertise now or back on NEW. (I did take a Stacker 2 once). They even did a live read for a prostitution service for a few days.

Dick creams, Jizz flavor pills or poker tutorials are a way for the advertiser to become part of the show, AND get their money.

I have to admit that before joining bodog.net I knew absolutely nothing about Poker.

After joining I can admit that I still know nothing.

Can't believe the so few complaints about Bodog. First thing I noticed when I signed up was the shitty, shitty software. The fold/call buttons don't click sometimes for some reason. Gotta click 'em just right. Also, people get disconnected about %75 of the hands. It rarely happens to me, but for some reason Bodog thought it you be a good idea to give them 30 seconds to respond. That's almost a minute of sitting there (including the time to fold/call) waiting for someone. But to put it simply, poker fucking sucks if you're not playing w/ real money. Even nickles and dimes are more fun to play with, at least the bets are more realistic.

For the new listeners, this should explain exactly how and why Opie does commercials that way:

I remember this conversation, Slappy Opie, doesnt excuse them for advertising such a shitty product, not that I would get the "beter sex vidios" either
