You see, if you bet with a bookie and lose, you pay a 10% vig to them. So to maximize the amount of money they take in, they want a dead even 50/50 split on money bet on both teams. The 1/2 point is just a tool to do this.

Its called a push. If we were really betting, you'd just have to pay the vig, which I would say would be Fezzie shaving his head. But since this is making good radio they'll probably milk it another week, after all, Fezzie cant abandon HIS Seahawks now.
