well...no...but they usually improve performance...generally the newer the card the better it will improve w, new drivers....Older cards don't get much of an improvement. What kind of card do you have?

I have the aiw x800xt, i have the next newest right now, and will be upgrading shortly. Usually the newest drivers provide the bets performance for the newest games. If you game I would reccomend it.if you dont it might not be necessary

Hell yeah, F PCI-E. I bought a new motherboard last march so I could run an AMD 64 chip. Now I'd like to replace my radeon 9700xt, but everythings PCI-E. Everytime I want to upgrade something on my computer lately, I gotta buy a new damn motherboard.

Instead, I'm going to put the money towards either a PS3 or Xbox 360. Screw computer gaming altogether for awhile. After buying a new recliner, hdtv, dolby surround set up, I hate sitting in front of the computer to play games now.

So I'm approx 2.5 hours into the upgrade. fucking AWFUL ati.

why havent we gotten to the point where its all in one file. i dont see how the fuck 5 different files are required to upgrade the mulitmedia center.

jesus fucking christ.

now, finally, i can upgrade the cockfucking display driver.

you should try omegadrivers.net, or some other optimized drivers. They remove all that catalyst control center horseshit and even have around 5-10% better performance depending on system to system.

oof DO NOT download these...horrible. HL2 crashed every time i tried to load it. might just be a crossifre issue but i dont reccomend these drivers stick with 6.1 for now.
